  1. Has everyone else been having issues with remans? Uses to be much worse lately in the past few months I'd average it out as 1 in 3 put of the box are no good, chipped impellars, won't spin at all, I stall fore it and it pours oil from the seals Internally. I had one I installed 2 months ago come in for "smoke and perf issues" again today take the intake PFF all looks well, I touched the compressor wheel and it came out in my hand, it snapped the exhaust wheel off and now I got a whole lot of cleaning to do since it filled everything with oil as well as a egr cooler since I won't take a chance. Sorry guys I'm venting because I hate repeating a job on someone else's issue. Its everyone else in my command aswell seeing the same
  2. i always keep 2 chargers on the batteries when doing anything where thehigh pressure system was open. helps from hurting ficms and keeps batteries alive on the extended cranks
  3. I'll also lean towards a lifter knocking on the cam. My BBC took a wheel out last year its the sound of $$$
  4. It seems like most trucks I get have one missing, and your right aaron its neover the back one. Its good that then new bolts also have a taller head to help eliminate slipping on the back one and busting your knuckles wide open
  5. It does run into vpwr after checking some diagrams afterwards
  6. I tend to see things in waves by me and ive had 3 in 2 weeks do this, 2 are 2007 f550s, the other is a 2006. complaint is no crank, all 3 trucks have multiple dtc's stored for just transmission related codes, ( tft, range sensor and i cant remember the last) unplug the starter wire connector nextto the pass. battery and jump it out, cranks and fires all is well!! sometimes it will crank now and other times it wont again. IDS reads park, neutral and enables starter function. just by some last miracle idea, i unplug the fan clutch(after having crank no start issues in the past with them), problem goes away! It never had any other dtc stored. Change the clutch the problem goes away and the transmission dtc's disappear? anyone else see, have seen this?
  7. atleast you know what happened, the guy next to me finished his first egr cooler/oil cooler yesterday and didnt pay attention to the oil cooler having 2 orings on each side, he only used one ( and the larger oring on the top groove instead of bottoms might i add) in a e-series and it made quite a mess for himself
  8. ive done a ton here in nyc, the 6.0s that have super high idle hours tend to leak more then my other trucks that get beatn like a step child oddly enough. I get the front cover (kit) with lower pump and havent had one return after doing one. on that note i also am seeing almost as many 6.4 timing covers leak too.
  9. I def. Agree with some of the posts looking at flex in the truck and it not being toally vertically mounted. As far as leaks all our 08's seem to be following a domino effect as leaks go. New radiators, then upper hoses, then lower hoses (engine side ) , now degas bottles we see them in waves.
  10. I was also told that blown egr coolers are killing injectors although in my fleet there is a ton of reasons why we do a ton of injectors. If you are getting combustion gas in the cooling system, is it also mixing fuel into it aswell? I've never had a 6.0 need a injector sleeve yet, did plenty of 7.3s tho
  11. I can also confirm that my fleets f550s have a huge delay in response then as mentioned come to life . I've had a few complaints from the operators on it too.
  12. Here in NYC we have huge issues with tanks being contaminated due to hurricane sandy. We've been able to save a few , but have at least 5 trucks in the fleet now waiting on hpfps
