  1. This will be a problem on high mileage 6.4s. When will Ford learn that you can't use an 0-ring on a component where the fluid is pulsating. It just chews up the 0-ring.
  2. The 6.7L is a 75 degree motor, so it may fit in the Econoline van.
  3. Someone was talking about TATA motor cars (An Indian car manufacturer). I replied back that my dog took a TATA in the front yard. True story.
  4. I got banned from the Ford message boards. So y'all have fun.
  5. Oh, I did not see any glow plugs. Never mind-located right below the fuel rail.
  6. The cam shaft drive is on the front of the engine. Here's the fuel injection set up.
  7. Most of the repairs can be done without pulling the cab. I noticed most of the fuel lines are external. No oil contamination.
  8. Sounds like you have a fuel problem. Check the fuel filter for grey paint like debris. Fuel tank may be delaminating.
  9. We have a tech that severly over charges customers. He did an ignition coil recall on a Lincoln LS. Then charges the customer 4 hours for a tune-up{saw this on vehicle's repair history}.I brought this up to management and nothing came of it. Same tech got an additional 9.9 hrs M-Time to pull the cab on a 6.4L.
  10. It's a "fix" for the vehicles that blow plugs out.
  11. I remember seeing a kit advertized to retrofit the 3V plugs to the 2V motors.
  12. OK. This Texas heat is affecting my brain. I was looking at a different labor op. Anyway, a sneaky pete was used to install rope type rear main seals without pulling the main bearing cap off.
  13. This is a new direction for Ford. Doing the R+D themselves. Usually they put the vehicles out there and let the customers do the R+D.
  14. Are these still available? (yes, showing my age) I need to replace a Fuel Rail Pressure sensor on a 6.4L The labor time pays less than removing the valve cover. I figured a sneeky pete would get it out.
  15. 6.0 and 6.4....... They did not give a damn when the designed it, so why should I give a damn when I fix it?
  16. I seen those tabs spead apart from the engine heat and cause loose connections. Always nice to have the customers do the R+D for you.
  17. One of our diesel techs had a claim kicked back on a glow plug relay. He charged for glow plug system diag-Ford actually said you don't need glow plugs for July in Texas. So they weren't paying for the diag. My question is, why does the PCM monitor the glow plugs if the ambient temp is 100F? The MIL should not even come on. As techs, we're the ones fixing these turds and "saving face" for Ford. Pretty soon they won't have anyone to fix 'em.
  18. Pays 6.1 to pull cab and 2.6 for fuel pump. P0088- always high pressure fuel pump.
  19. People can't even get their oil changed. What will make them fill the urine tank?
  20. Ford did not count on diesel techs leaving the business for good. Now they are stuck with a bunch of jackets. If they keep cutting the labor rates back, they will have no one to work on their diesels.
  21. They guy that invented that stuff is a friend of mine. We ride dirt bikes together and have tested it out at several enduros. They recently sold out to Johnson and Johnson.
  22. I spray the nut with combustion chamber cleaner, cut the sensor off and use a 13mm six point socket with a 1/2 breaker bar. Anyone figure out why the #3 sensor is always bent over?
  23. From what I've heard, Ford is billing International for all the 6.0 and 6.4 warranty claims.
  24. Remember Ford did the same thing when the sold out to Sterling.
  25. Yeah. But that ISUZU is not giving GM heartburn.
