Here in the Houston area, a lot of dealers are offering sign on bonuses for techs.
They range from $1,500 to $3,000.
I've been in the business for 20 years, this was unheard of, until now.
On my unofficial Team Gas Gas box van, I used Mercon V (E4OD) after a rebuild.
Before I got rid of it,I drove it for 33,000 miles with no problems at all.

I had an Ambulance with a stuck VGT, no boost. Replaced the turbo and it would not relearn the VGT.
So I had to put another turbo on the vehicle. Relearned it in 3 min.
Just like Ford has the customers do their R+D, they will have the techs do their own training.
On the topic of warranty times: It does not help that we have techs posting on the Ford PTS web site that, "I can do head gaskets on a 6.0 in 2 hrs". Ford sees that and will review the labor time standards.
I've done a few of these.
TSB 06-4-6
5C3Z-9C854-A H/P Discharge Tube
W301727 H/P Pump Outlet Fitting
The coupler "vibrates" with the high pressure oil pump pulsations. This causes the o-ring to get chewed up and leak.
Not a very well engineered connection.
It shows that circuit in the 2004 EVTM.
Cell 97-1.
There's a parking brake relay that feeds off that fuse F2.27. California Diesel pickups and CA gas Excursions.
Why would you need a keyboard?
We flipped our screen around so the keyboard is covered.
The screen is 100% easier to read that the WDS in bright sun light.
The only down side I have right now is the battery life.It only lasts for 3 PCM reflashes.
Panasonic only wants you to recharge the battery when it's dead.
I've actually gotten a pay cut due to these Sick Os.
So much time is spent diagnosing/working on them, the cash paying customers are getting put on the back burner.
I actually hate going to work now.
Some of the early 03s were having concerns with the head bolts.
At certain temps, the head bolts would "stretch"
and cause a head gasket leak.
By the time you got around and pressure checked it, the bolts would have cooled off and the gaskets resealed.
You can make a coolant pressure tester that "T"s into the hoses on the coolant bottle.
If the pressure goes past 18lbs, you have a problem.
Dang. Even the flunkie lube guys here are making $16 / hr.All they do all day long is "gravy" work that requires no thought or skills. While us certified guys get stuck with all the crap work.
