  1. Update, The senders are actually Stewart Warner pieces and can be purchased a lot cheaper than thru the Blue Diamond or Ford network. They went away from the pivot style to a vertical style sender about 1 1/2 years ago for replacement. It was found that the fuel sloshing in the tank was causing a bad connection on the sender. This new sender has relieved these types of problems. It may be a good idea to take a look at the external wiring for chafes, it is exposed and has had problems there also. Some companys use power washers(upwards of 3000 psi) on the trucks and cause shorts in the wiring.
  2. The Boat is Awesome, Truck doesn't look bad either.. Just a thought any Power tuners or exhaust upgrades or anything that would make this thing freak out. How about the exhaust? Ford had some issues with the down pipe cracking with excessive vibration right around the clamp near the transmission.
  3. Well it's been a couple of days.. Has anybody had one yet? If so how did it go? Upsells or just blow them thru the dealer?
  4. Maybe it's like alot of the orings that need to be replaced when parts are disassembled they tend to swell. Just a thought, but obviously trucks aren't designed to overheat or piss out the degas bottle, could be a safety thing, or maybe a liability thing Ford doesn't want to have to deal with. Re: truck overheated, killed engine because of faulty cap, could be Fords way of kicking back a warranty. Does this sound more like it? Sorry for taking so long on a response to my own post but I had to think about this one..
  5. Hey Dave, I presented this to the owner of our company. I'm proud to tell you thay we are all going to send cards per your suggestion. Between my 2 shops and soon to be 3 we will be sending out about 60-65 cards thanks to you. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif I hope everybody on this Forum does the same. It feels good to help our men and woman doing right by our country. Hopefully they will be back soon with all their loved ones. GOD BLESS AMERICA /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rockon.gif
  6. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gifWhew... You had me worried I pissed somebody off. Nah I've got thicker skin than that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  7. No no don't take it like that. I was stating that there are some dealers, but not all of them that take advantage of some situations. For instance I had one of my techs that needed a 1104 4wd hub list was about $220.00 he was broke down and went to the closest dealer to him and had to pay $280.00 for the same part from them that he could have gotten for a lot less from my dealership. I believe in making a profit, but within reason. I'm not trying to bust anybodies chops here on this issue, I understand that the list price that Ford publishes is a "Suggested list price" and every dealer has the ability to adjust as seen fit. But come on now...

  9. D%$m Keith a little rough don't you think?? MISSED ONE DIDN'T YOU??
  10. Watch out North of the border guys... Keith is on the lookout now... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/readthis.gif Neaner,Neaner,Neaner /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif
  11. I'm glad that you have gotten your URL through and look forward to trying to find it.. By the way North/South it don't matter the last time I looked I still pull my pants up, how about you? No Dip here unless I buy it!! Hey supposed old dude(curmugeon) I researched and found out that the "curmugeon" is a CRUSTY CANTANKEROUS OLD PERSON FULL OF STUBBORNS IDEAS. I DON'T PERSONALLY SEE THAT What now??? Oh yeah Ford powered, or powered from England, another country wanting to get their hands on us like Japan.
  12. What we can't even try to post our link? Why not it might get through so that some would see the truth, not what Mother FoMoCo sensors have not to say. Oh for instance, I am being nice(what a P.O.S the sick-o is on our side of the engine)I'm glad that Navistar hasn't had the same problems that we have had but I would like to tell Mother differently. Lets face it to much power, to much torque is shaking these engines apart. The same ones that are underpowered from Navistar don't have the cracking problems on some of the parts that we do. Shall I remind you of the branch tubes. What rocket scientist designed these for the Ford application? Okay guys I'm going to open it up again... How about a Cat. or a Cummins, oh hell(sorry Keith this is a four letter word but so is Ford) how about a Benz powered F-series... It might give Navistar something to think about, with all the problems that we are having with these trucks. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif Oh shit(sorry Keith) Jim I almost forgot about you guys to the North. You all are very important to all of us(NOT SMALL POTATOES) what would we do without you???
  13. Man $250.00 for a cmp sensor, I'm sorry for that being a parts guy and all. Even when I was at the dealer I never sold them for more than about $130.00-$135.00 over the counter. Now mind you that this where dealers get the bad reputation for jamming it up the pooper to customers. It seems that a lot of lt truck and car dealers feel the need to make all the money off of a few customers that come in the front door. I do have to say that my DP/Owner did a great job of setting the standard for pricing. Everybody that came in got fleet pricing whether it be a end users personal truck or a guy that had a fleet. We did sell on average about a $500k almost every month, and kicked the crap out of most all of the Metro Detroit dealers. And the best thing about it was that I felt good when I left every day. Somebody needs to clue in the DP's out there not to try to screw over the customers. The NCD/NTD sells the first vehicle we all have the job of selling the next 3. It's just getting tougher to do anymore.
  14. Jim I thank you for the recognition for helping on you new mission in life. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif I do feel for your new "boss" having to deal with you "all" the time. Good luck /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif No Jim just kidding, I hope you have a good working relationship with your new boss. Now my friend go with my blessing and train him to your liking. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif Oh by the way no SNOW just that nasty thing called ICE here. LOTS AND LOTS OF SALT /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif
  15. Well I can tell you guys that the new Cummins engines are really nice in the Dodges and the New Sterling/Freightliner Bullets. Everything is meant to come out of the front of the truck. Not the cab off that Ford requires. It doesn't make any sense what Ford is doing. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
  16. Gee go figure a salesman being a tight wad..NO WAY!!! If they have to spend money on anything it would probably be their cell phones or something else to make their status look better to all of us peons. Good for him..I hope he loses a HPOP next week.
  17. Don't we all feel like getting shit faced and sitting in a corner by ourselves at one point or another? As for Jim, Life is what you make of it. To have one or not... I'm not one to judge I just want to see all of us be happy and enjoy what we do... I don't think that's to much to ask, do you? Jim if you want to work(or have to) that's up to you. Life is to short. JIM I think I'm a little like you but I enjoy lifes little pleasures without having to think about work. The sunset the sunrise and the Deer in my back yard to watch and fatten up for the next couple of weeks until the Bucks come back in. I have a new driver starting on Monday and plan to make the most of him without hurting his little feelings to much. Between myself and the other guys I work with we've killed/gotten rid of 3 in the last month. What am I doing wrong other than getting stuff done???? We probably drive about 150-200 miles a day per driver. Is that to much to ask??
  18. ALRIGHT This reminds me of a big truck issue I faced about 6 months ago... A 2000 Sterling with a comp-evap line problem. The original came out of the comp. went across the front of the engine and back to the evap. on the pass. side. Sterling's answer of which nobody told us. New part # not even close to the original part. The new part comes out of the comp. goes up the left side of the engine and across on the way back to the evap. New part, new location new routing and no new info.... Called a couple of times to Sterling/Freightliner... No info had to figure this one out!!!
  19. Just wait it will happen the "old timers" that think you have to cover the fronts with cardboard. It will come!! It always does!! They just don't know any better!!

  21. "Oh, NO..... don't restrict the airflow through your cooling stack..... unless the restriction has a Ford part number on it...". That said by Jim. I think you need a trip to the HEAVY TRUCK STORE and see what really happens out on the road. Big trucks don't have this problem that smaller trucks have. I have 3 bosses that have 3 Chevy's all with Duramax's and don't have the same problems as we have, and they run them hard, at the same time we also have numerous hardcore Ford guy's that run them hard and have no problems.7.3-6.0 I think the biggest problem is that most of the customers we have is that they try to drive them more like cars than TRUCKS. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think so. They need to be driven like a truck
  22. It all depends on what part # they have charged it under if it's they same # I dealt with at Motor City they will be screwed. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif Most dealers have gotten as much as they could even though they already knew it was coming down the pipe. Me myself I couldn't do that to a customer so I fixed the # in my system and charged accordingly. It really fucked up the dealer principle I hear because they have them in stock and didn't even know it. But at the same time when I moved over to Superior Turbo I ordered 12 of them for my stock. I know there will be a b/o on them. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif Call me. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif I'll help any of us whenever possible. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  23. Hey how about a introduction to the website?
  24. I think the key here is if your guy's/cust's will listen to what you advise as to the best practice with the winterfronts. It depends on how close you are with them and if they will listen to you. The better the relationship you have with them the better off you will be. They will take you're advise and do what you tell them if it's a sound piece of info. Lets face it most of them have been to the "dirty" websites and gotten a lot of "GARBAGE" from them. Hey I think I'm sounding a little like Jim here. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
