  1. Joey, this application is a touchy one. You should have a 3C3Z10346CA installed on the bottom and F81Z10346DA on the top. This is for the 120amp. that your vin. shows. The application also shows a 140amp. option with 6C3Z10346BA on the top and F81Z10346DA going on the bottom. My suggestion would be to get the engineering #'s off of the alt. that are in the vehicle now and verify that the correct #'s are where they are supposed to be.
  2. I've seen this a couple of times before. You should check the drive shaft and also the mid-ship bearing. Seen the shaft either being bent or loosing a balance weight off of them. The vibration tends to shake the bolts loose. Might as well check your joints at the same time.
  3. Cool avatar, got a good laugh out of that one. Thanks
  4. That would be nice!!!!( ice cold Bud ) I think we forgot about 2 coolers. How about the condensor and evaporator.
  5. We have the same problems here, we only have 2 maybe 3 good parts guy's here. I've come to the conclusion that we're a dying breed. The new,(young)guy's that are coming in to the shop's around here just don't have the experience around pretty much anything mechanical. You should see the blank looks I get when I have a newbee try to look up points and condensor. As for the salt, I believe that instead of being the Motor City, we should have been called Sodium City. Lots of fuel lines and oil pans.
  6. Sorry so late on the post, we use OE Connection here. Ditschman/Flemington Ford shows it,and also Holman Ford does to.
  7. Just got back from the Cummins dog and pony show, will post the new emission stuff on the new engines shortly.
  8. Not that i've come across but it sure would be nice to have a source for a repair plug. The only thing we have been doing is replacing the 9A451 harness. If anybody has come across something please let us all know.
  9. I don't know if this makes a difference or not but Ford has used the same cap on all the light trucks will diesel engines since 1995-2007 7.3 and 6.0 F6DZ 8100 A. Rated at 16psi. and on the F650's with the 6.0 4C4Z 8100 AD rated at 10psi.
  10. Correct me if i'm wrong... But aren't pressure caps rated to a certain psi, and if the pressure exceeds the rating that they are designed to release the excess pressure?????
  11. I totally agree with you about the testing and being trained. That's exactly the same questions I gave to the Shell rep. His response was that they haven't had any problems with this. I still believe that coolant should be tested regularly. We do check it regardless of what Shell say's, If the coolant is failing within the mileage that is recommended then I would hope that the supplier whether it be Shell,Dexcool or other would be paying for the repair.
  12. Well here we go again, 10,000 layoffs and 2 more plants to be shut down. Maumee Ohio stamping plant and Windsor engine plant. Whatever happened to the old phrase " if you want to make money you have to spend money ". I think if Ford keeps going this way we will all be looking for jobs in the near future. I guess Bill Ford jr. got out just in time.
  13. I tried to get the 2 guy's driving the ones that are posted to show me, but they were only drivers putting miles on the trucks. I looked the hood release was removed, the hoods are chained and locked down.
  14. ??? You have no pedal response and it's not the T.P.S. on the pedal??
  15. I don't know how many of us use ProQuest but I have found out when looking up parts for these engines we don't have to look up individual oring, gaskets, seals if you go to the search or shortcut box and type in "kit" it will pull up every kit made for the engine. I found this out looking up the oil cooler cover gaskets. I figure this will make all of our lives a little easier.
  16. Ford did that because they have more blow-dick engineers that don't think about having to service these trucks.
  17. No license plate on the van this thing must have just been delivered. Could this be another case of lot rot?
  18. If you have access to Cummins Quickserve online take a look at the trouble shooting tree T062. This covers engine runs rough and misfires. We have had to reflash some of these engines for the vibration at idle.
  19. Got them on order right now, will let you know when I see them.
  20. Part # 3C3Z9T288AA is on b/o showing approx eta of 10/27. Does anybody out there have any extra? We have 2 trucks that are down.
  21. Hey guy's I was just informed that I will be going to our Cummins distributor on Aug 30th for a new product info/demonstration for the 2007-2008 Cummins engines. Maybe they will have some info on the new clean diesel that we have been hearing about. I will post whatever I find out after the class.
  22. Was this a originally ordered from Ford or was it a add on after the fact? If it was ordered from Ford option # 57D then it would be covered under the base engine warranty. If it was added after the fact it would have a 1 year warranty.
  23. Correction on the weights. 6.9 and 7.3 short block 400 lb. long block 700 lb. complete drop in 900 lb. No info on the 6.0 or 4.5 but they tell me the 6.0 weighs a little more.
