  1. Yes the latest revision has some tough stuff on there and it is actually longer than the length of wiring it is covering so it acts like a spring keeping it tucked into the plastic of the gasket at each end. I no longer tie the protective convolute.
  2. http://store.snapon.com/Diesel-Compression-Gauge-Gauge-Diesel-Compression-0-800-PSI-P649855.aspx One of the best gages on the market, I've had this one for years. I have the 7.3 and 6.0 adapters with it but no 6.7 adapter yet.
  3. This clears up a little confusion on TSB 13-10-5 and prior approval.
  4. Nailed it. I am sure this would piss them off to hear as it could be considered wasting their time. I will say that they are good for providing answers or specifications that I cant seem to find in the service literature.
  5. Actually this thread was to poke fun at the hotline. I would have moved the topic over to engine side of things but the customer is going to send it to Windstar Heaven. I threw that hotline report together rather hurriedly and it shows, but that's no reason for them not to read the darn thing before sending a reply that is so old, those flywheel/balancer issues took place in the mid 90's for friggs sake.
  6. The elite retirement club that is, you know being antiques and all.
  7. Congratulations, and welcome to the elite club!
  8. On the one hand, I like the "several people have already experienced your problem, would you like to review the reports?" on the other hand I dont like the fact that you cant argue with the person on the other end of the computer instantly like you can on the phone. ????????..........
  9. I can pretty much guarantee we do. Nothing gets thrown away at my dealer. I will check tomorrow.
  10. Ah yes 1994 the year of many powertrain options for pickups! Customer is spec'ing out a 1994 F-350 chassis cab and the salesman asked what engine would you like, answered with what can I get? Well there is a 4.9L 5.0L 5.8L 7.5L 7.3L IDI, 7.3L IDI Turbo and a 7.3L DIT, so what will it be?
  11. Alex, how did you manage to pin this down?
  12. Thank you kind sir! Some things have changed since that document was made, but it gets you in the right direction.
  13. That camo wrap must me some kinda flammable!
  14. A quick and easy check for the FRP connector is to remove the oil fill/crankcase depression regulator off the right valve cover, then you can look down in there and see if the connector is coming loose and making a shitty contact or not. I always zip tie the connector if I have the valve cover off. As far as a pump harness rubbing, it seems fuse 74 would have blown by now. You might could drop the fuse rating down a bit and see if blows.
  15. I have seen 2 so far. One was an F-450 tow truck, and the other was an F-350 service body truck. The 450 just needed a tube, the 350 however, was intermittently shifting from 2nd back to 1st under hard accel instead of 3rd. I wonder if it could have caused issues with the cac tube.
  16. I have never waivered from my beliefs and work practices and I have survived a dozen or so service managers. Stand your ground within the boundaries of respect and you will persevere and come out on top.
  17. I knew of someone whose vehicle would mysteriously get stolen anytime his lease was up and the mileage was over the limit.
  18. Don't argue with this guy, he knows what he is doing. Pedestrians beware, you will get knee capped.
