  1. From Lowe's or probably any local home improvement center or lumber yard. Werner® Aluminum Portable Work Platform Item #: 146404 Model: AP-20-MP6
  2. Bruce has covered everything there is to cover (as usual) so I can't add much except. Any time I get an ABS light on an F-650 I developed a quick test I like to use, I road test to verify the light but I take a little hammer with me. when I turn around I'll stop, get out and use my little hammer to tap all 4 of the sensors in and drive back to the shop. If the light goes out I'll check check codes for the axle I need to check bearings and tone rings on. If it doesn't go out then it more than likely has a sensor bad. I have seen many that the sensor was just pushed out but had no discernible bearing play or "excessive" tone ring rust problems, my only explanation is maybe a hunk of rust,or a stone just knocked it back a little.
  3. http://www.autotrend.us/info.htm about half way down on the left side is "SELLC" the ass clowns user name it come up as a computer company?. address for it is 8211 Ronda Drive Canton, Michigan 48187 (734)459-0007 also from this page "In the year 2001 Stellar Enterprise LLC, Michigan becomes legal entity in Michigan, doing business as "Auto-Trend Repairs & Service" Now servicing Canton, Plymouth, Westland, and Northville areas."
  4. Bruce are "keys" for SAINT available or have you tried to use the same key on more than one computer? I installed it and got to the Key part and was told that no keys are available.I'd love to update to SAINT but can't.
  5. I actually know a guy that was almost killed in a diesel shitvette. he tried to pull into traffic and got T-Boned by a pickup ,shattered his pelvis and hip.
  6. A 1982 SHITVETTE ????DIESEL NO LESS how freaking hard did they have to search for that bomb Quote: it's one of the few cars that wasn't offered with air conditioning because the engine couldn't maintain the car's road speed and spin the A/C compressor. I would have tough all of those turds would have been flushed by now! I'd rather walk down the street with a BIG ASS sign that says "ASK ME ABOUT MY HERPES" than be seen driving that thing no matter how many MPG it gets.
  7. Many of us have abandoned Fords belief that the branch tube must be replaced if it's bent You didn't say if you had a cracked/broken tube or only bent? Ford Say's if it's bent it has to be replaced, but International says to bend it back and test it. I have "persuaded" many tubes back into shape and only had to actually replace one branch tube, I always reinstall the IPR and air test before reassembly. If you search the 6.0L forum you'll find quite a few discussions on the branch tube.
  8. I've just had a run of STC fitting failures on LCF's three in the last month. I bet you got one going on!!
  9. got it F81Z-6F089-BA WOW thats expensive!!! LIST $450 ouch /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif Glad it's not my truck.
  10. 06B40 - In some of the affected vehicles, the engine crankcase ventilation system could form sludge and moisture that may freeze at temperatures below 20 degrees F. This could potentially create a blockage in the crankcase ventilation system that could create an engine oil consumption concern.
  11. I found my old job aid card with the dusted turbo pics (I'm sure it's on here somewhere). it has a basic for the actuator thats not listed in the parts cat. so my parts guy ordered it and we'll see????? Thanks Larry I tried to call you but you have left for the day. must be nice /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
  12. I need a waste gate actuator for a 99 F-550 the nipple rotted off. parts only shows it available as part of the turbo assy? If anybody has a ford part number that would be great if not it's gonna get a Banks one /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif.
  13. Al;so check to see if the truck had the breather modification done, it was a recall I can't remember the number. in cold weather LCF's would fill the breather with goo.
  14. Last week I finally broke down and installed the new version of MD (saint) After installing it I followed the registration key instructions and it told me that "All available keys have been used"!! WTF...... I called hotline and they told me "NOPE SORRY WE DON'T HAVE ANY KEYS" reinstall your old version.

I promise not to call Ralph a weiner.
  16. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif Is this "stand pipe recall" a Canadian thing? I'm not familiar with it. As Keith and Bruce stated these LC0F's have most of the same issues as a 6.0L and a few of there own like they love to eat o-rings on the HP oil rail.
  17. this was recently discussed. SEE TOPIC HERE I had a run on them a while back then didn't replace one for over a year, then recently we have another run on them . up to about 7 now.
  18. With CAT, Cummins, or Detroit/Allison you would need a large volume of repair work, customer pay or warranty for the cost of the gear, training, and subscriptions to pay back. If your dealership is primarily a car and light truck shop you DON'T have the room for MD trucks.
  19. ok it's fixed the missing seat for the oil line to the injector was the cause, glad I didnt put it in. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hahaha.gifserves him right for letting a guy that works with Cummins stuff all day touch a CAT motor Thanks again guys /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
  20. Quote: Uhhg! Unless you are serious and are going to dive into medium duty trucks completely you might want to reconsider. +11111111111 Cat is stopping all on highway truck engines on 12/31/08. There is no navistar engine available the last I knew. Cummings is the only option, and there people are not "user friendly"
  21. The owner is a long time family and my personal friend, and we both would like to keep it that way. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif As a result of that I'm generally the last person asked for help so I didn't install the injector. what I did find is that the guy that did left out the domed piece on the top of the injector that seals to the oil line resulting in a HP oil leak I believe is causing the no start. the shot of either would kick it up enough to fire but as soon as the oil warned up a little it shut off and wouldn't re fire. he is going to try to get a replacement today and we will try again. thanks guys
  22. Be happy it had actual words in the instructions. I just installed a Neutral Tow kit in a sport trac, the instructions were all drawings, arrows, and cryptic symbols.
  23. ok I need some help with this. I was asked by a Buddie to look at his truck, he just replaced an injector for a skip/miss and now it wont start ( he told me with ether it will start and runs normally for about 1-2 Min's then just shut off. Any of this sound familiar to the CAT pros what should I be looking for beyond the basic oil quality/quantity, fuel check eng light? I haven't looked at the truck yet and I no longer have access to ET to check for any codes or monitor pid data (a long story about a destroyed laptop). Anybody know of any cheap of free software to use the Cat or Cummings adapters as a basic scan tool?
  24. I couldn't help notice the little birthday cake next to your name on a post I was reading. So, I'd like to be the first to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
