  1. What ever you do DON'T use Hypermax gaskets...unless you like doing head gaskets, ask me how I know. I like OEM gaskets with ARP studs.
  2. I have the LISLE tool and feel it's the best hands down. I lots track of how many plugs I've pulled out but I've replaced (worn out) the extractor twice. Most of the guys just come over to my bay with the broken plug in there hand and ask me to come extract the plug for them.
  3. Yeah were gonna need that address there buddy.......
  4. A drizzle of that friction mod on the collar's of all his fresh from the uniform company work shirts is an option too........ BTW new friction mod smells bad, but old used and burnt gear oil/friction mod smells REAL BAD....
  5. We have had a run of cloged cats here as well mostly short bus's , The bus's came in for coolant loss complaints and got what we refer to as "The 6.0 tuneup" (oil/egr coolers, turbo cleaning, oil change and coolant flush). But failed the road test. Try dropping the exhaust and retest.
  6. Seeing that the injectors alone cost more than that even from ebay I'd be real suspicious of the work performed
  7. Yeah.... (Mr. customer) "My brand new truck has a check engine light on." (Service advisor)"sure Mr.customer we'll be happy to look at that check engine light for you right away." {service advisor)"The tech took a look at your truck and he tells me your check engine lights on because you need to replace your passenger side mirror" ........ Now just picture the look on the guys face when he gets told his check engine lights on because his mirror got broken.
  8. In an F-series no problem if it's a Econoline no.
  9. OUCH!!!!! Hey Larry while your behind Aaron stabbing him in the back the least you could do is kiss his ass..
  10. with that size inverter I would only go to the battery. change the cable end if necessary to hook it to the battery
  11. A few weeks ago while riding my son's 50cc quad (picture a circus bear on a mini bike) I flipped over and crashed resulting in road rash to my left shoulder, elbow, side, and knee. Suffered through a list of E bus's with blown coolers its not easy to not lean on your left elbow when working on an E bus. but I made it through every things healed up lesson learned . This Saturday I have the " CUBMOBILE" race's for my sons cub scout pack. I picked up 150 bales of hay to line the hill as a safety barrier. the hay is loaned to us and we must return it so durring the return I'm tossing hay bales off my truck to the ulity trailer attached to it so it can be passed to the others and stacked, as I toss a bale my feet slip on the loose hay on the floor of the bed and I go over the closed tailgate head first landing on the trailer tongue with my left shoulder dislocating it and tearing the associated tendons and muscles. So I'm out of work for an undetermend time, on the bright side I got lots of pills that do realy cool things to take till my shoulder heals..
  12. Yeah I had that problem too.. just let a few key people know that your leaving/left and they will all find you....trust me even the ones you wish wouldn't. plus you'll gain a few more.
  13. I have no personal experience with Pensacola diesel stuff, but quite a few here do and it ain't good!!!!
  14. fortunately no it wasn't stacked with another filter but I can just about guaranty that it would have been if the EGR cooler didn't fail. most lube rack guys would never even have looked twice at the old filter before stuffing another on top of it.
  15. Just this morning while disassembling for an oil/egr cooler replacment I find this...
  16. Just to remove all doubt I'd swap in an OEM filter and try it again.
  17. Ditto on the header this photo is of a brand new header installed when replacing the oil cooler for an external leak. After the replacment it was getting oil in the coolant.
  18. just a wild guess... Could something be cloging the screen under the oil cooler or the passage in the block to the pump?? It does have a motorcraft oil filter and the bottom of an old filter isn't stuck in the bottom of the filter housing??
  19. Odd this should come up. Just this morning I was handed a ticket line 1 was a trans svc I heard the converter was noisy and the fluid was not real dirty so I went to the writer and asked him what was up, he called the customer who said he noticed the noise getting louder and thought a fluid svc would help.. ..On the plus side I upsold the trans scv to a new converter
  20. I've never done that one ,but I can tell you that the crank trigger wheel on a 24V 3.0L Taurus motor has two keyway notches in it.............Yeah....cool....
