i have done this reprogram on 22 vech over the last 2 months and it has not fixed a single one. anyone out there actually have this tsb bring a skipping cylinder back to life. the ratio here in ct. is like 30 to 1. -
got the covers back on today and installed the turbo and pipes. not sure how you would get the covers off without removing the turbo and jacking the motor unless you have really strong stick arms. i tried to leave the turbo on and jack the motor and all i got was 1/2 inch lift, not nearly enough. thanks for all the help, i may try and remove the motor mount next time and see how that goes.

ok, this is my first time doing injectors on an e series/school bus. does anyone have any tips for removing the valve covers. i was able to remove the left hand side cover without to much trouble i.e removing the turbo and removing the left side engine mount bolts, then jacking the motor to the moon. all went well but not i am trying to get the right side valve cover and oil rail off with little success. any help would be appreciated. thank you all for your input.

i was able to get a package of ten terminal wires from a local navistar/international dealer but the part number was blacked out with permenant marker. it was fresh to, i could smell it had just been blacked out. i guess the dealer didn't want the part # out there. seems a bit strange to try and keep that a secret, like cloak and dagger or something. oh well, i 'm sure that the part # was posted already. thanks for the help. and remember.......don't go spreading international part #'s around.....somebody may be watching /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/poke.gif

i need to know if anyone has run into this. i repalced the glow plugs, all 4 glow plug/injector harness's and valve cover gaskets because the covers and connectors were melted and 5 glow plugs were faulty. i need to replace two of the harness side connectors for the valve covers becuase they melted. all parts could get me was the connector hard shell repair kits, meaning no wires. we do not have the individual wires to slide in the connectors. does now what i can do. do they sell a pig tail for the valve cover harness. does anyone know if they make individual wires for this. any help would be great. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif

6.0 Injector Install

top side creeper is the one of the best tools i have invested my time in borrowing. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif -
this 6.0 has had 3 sets of injectors for cylinders 4 and 6. i put the last two injectors in and found that the hold downs were streatched. i called the hotline and was told to replace all 4 injectors in and all 4 hold downs. i did that and changed the oil. the vech is now back with a dead hole #6. #4 is skipping intermittantly. i did a fuel pressure test and relative compression test. compression was green across the board and fuel pressure was 50psi under load. i checked the oil supply rail for any debrit from the hp pump and found none. any suggestions would be great. the injector gaskets, o-rings and clips are all there and in good shape.

did my second cleaning on a turbo today. thing ran great for 15 minutes. then when accelerating hard up a hill there was a noise like i blew the intercooler. brought it back and smoke tested the intake and exhaust- no leaks. checked the turbo and found the turbine and impellor destroyed. not to sure what happend. took it back apart to make sure i didn't missalign something and all was good. oh well. needs a turbo now.

has anyone done the tsb for the turbo cleaning. i just did my first one today. i will say this, it doesn't take a lot of carbon to slow down those vgt vanes. this is just not a good design. you can see when you take it apart where the vanes like to sit. you need to modify your cookie wheel to clean around the vane pins. next thing you know we will be rebuilding the entire unit with new bearings and new turbine's and impellers. can't wait.
