  1. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess it came from that 6.4L hanging upside down behind you.
  2. Now I have coworkers stopping in my bay to see... I wish I had some caca to throw at a few of them. (like the monkeys at the zoo)
  3. Monkey? I take offense to that Mr! I am a factory trained stealership KNUCKLE DRAGGER. Get it right!
  4. Looks the same. Were you expecting an improvement?
  5. I had my long locks removed today.
  6. Wait now Jim. The concensus on the internets forums is that the dealers wont fix it unless there is a code or a warning light on. I am so confused now!
  7. Yeah, a V-10 would have been a wiser choice on this one. I also wonder if they run aviation fuel in this truck.
  8. So it stands to reason that you need to inspect the harness and make a determination as to the extent of the damage. If the harness is not damaged then a pigtail is the proper fix. If the wires within the main harness is contaminated, and the insulation is soft and swollen I would agree that the engine harness requires replacement. At this point, you should fill out the Hot-Line assistance form and run your observations by them. I am sure that they would agree that the harness should be replaced in such instances. Document you findings carefully on the repair order and include a copy of the Hot-Line report with your repair order should the warranty peeps require an education.
  9. I am thinking that if you have access to NETS (which I do) and the option comes up then we should be capable of the update. Getting PAID to install this from Ford would come under the category of "not in this lifetime." Obviously the Navistar guys have a green light. Customer pay? Why not.
  10. Here is the Navistar fuel pressure switch bulletin. Ford never released this to the best of my knowledge. Is this something that would be plug and play on the Ford LCF's? Thank you Bruce for the bulletin!
  11. Well since I last posted on this the truck has returned. Customer still complaining about the shaking and the four Continental tires I installed 13,000 miles ago are worn down to 4 32nds in the rear. Also since then TSB 11-6-14 seems to be Ford's fix for this. A road test over the exact road the customer demonstrated the scary oscillation only exhibited a couple shakes of the front end which then settled down. This is how it was when it last left me. It's better but I personally think this front end is right on the edge of acceptable. I have been reading other posts about these front ends and I think this is going to remain an issue. I also read that replacing the shocks and the stabilizer with another brand (premium or performance) take your pick seems to correct any indication of shaking. I also attached the TSB for anyone who hasn't seen it...
  12. Yeah, to catch bugs to eat! The forms thing, I had lingering issues with OASIS and getting forms to come up. I discovered that using the "Previous VIN's" tab and running it on Tuesday was returning server errors. Re-entering the VIN's and running OASIS fresh then allowed me access the forms. I actually had to contact the Hot-Line for prior approval on an engine but all things finally got worked out.
  13. I need the FORD part number for the fuel pressure regulator kit that contains the blue spring, poppet and o-rings. This is a 2006 LCF but probably fits all LCF's.
  14. Ford never recalled trucks for that and no, there is no FPS. I have a truck in with 35 PSI KOEO and 43 PSI at idle. I am getting conflicting data from Ford on this from the PCED to the Hot Line. Seems a tad low to I want to address this while I am replacing all 6 injectors. I am replacing the regulator first. I just want straight answers and I am not getting them... except from you of course.
  15. I would like to know what you guys typically see when testing fuel pressure on 4.5L LCF's. The Performance Diagnostic Procedures states: Enter 413.6-482.6 kPa (60-70 psi) for the KOEO fuel pressure and the fuel pump discharge pressure, 276 kPa (40 psi) for the low idle fuel pressure, 345 kPa (50 psi) for the high idle fuel pressure, and 20.0 kPa (6 in Hg vacuum) for the fuel pump inlet restriction specifications on the Performance Diagnostics form. This is vastly different from the specs for a 6.0L for example.
  16. Or you can use a Dremmel and stone bits to grind the broken tool and stud out. Sometimes low-tech still works.
  17. Anyone else getting annoyed with the Hot-Line and Prior Approval forms being down for days? At least they got the cost cap tool back online. Not like it does any good with the prior approval out.
  18. More Ford stupidity. Remember when you could get a fuel pump for and HFCM on 6.0L F-Series? The pump was more than the entire HFCM! The pump has since been discontinued but man! Some things make no sense.
  19. And on that note, why are you building a "long block?" Usually when we discuss long blocks and short blocks we are discussing new or remanufactured assemblies. Assembly not available?
  20. Well do let us know. Some of these bastardized vehicles can be tough.
  21. Because they think nobody will buy them. BTW what the hell are you driving?
  22. I watched a few of these. But I seriously think these videos are stupid and I almost get embarrassed for these idiots. Yeah, I know, most if not all of these are fakes. It's kinda like being a young kid seeing sex for the first time: It's gross but for some strange reason you can't stop watching. You got me with the word Bacon in the title.
  23. What happened? Did Bill Hewitt make another YouTube movie wearing an Alex Bruene mask?
