  1. Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwords.
  2. Yes and it is very annoying. I write up repairs with great details and print outs. I don't need to bring up old diagnostics which can confuse me if I am in a mode where I may not be paying as close attention as I should.
  3. My dentist had bad breath this morning... which has nothing to do with how well he re-cemented my crown back in.
  4. This reminds me of the 6.0L inferred EBP flash Jim. I recall (no pun intended) doing a lot of turbos and y-pipe repairs after flashing many 2003 trucks. Some required immediate repairs.
  5. I did that once. My Explorer ran like shit and there wasn't much diesel in the "fuel." It wold ping and buck under acceleration... just thought I would add that tid-bit.
  6. Good advice but be sure to do it in a respectful and professional manner.
  7. I have had a couple trucks towed in with full tanks of gas which only ran for a minute or two. They too got flushed out and refilled without issue to this day. I am not sure how quickly damage is done, some say immediately, but it seems the factor here may be how long the engine was run with gas. If the tank is filled when there is still a decent amount of diesel that would allow the engine to run I think that scenario is the most detrimental.
  8. There is room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
  9. Why? They aint gots no hoses accross the country? Ahhhyuk!
  10. Well keep bragging that you are getting paid too much and Ford just might cut the time.
  11. YES! In my two bay truck area I have one lift and one dead bay with a floor drain that is connected to a gray water tank where all of our floors drain into. It gets sucked out every so often. After the initial coolant and whatever else is in the system is disposed of in the proper disposal barrels I usually let water run free when flushing. This is also a great place to degrease engines and chassis whenever that is necessary. Having a dedicated area and drain system may sound un-necessary or a waste of time but it is not in my opinion.
  12. Dammit! I just lost a crown. Wonder how much this is gonna co$t me.
  13. Mine were done by an oral surgeon which was probably best as I don't want to be awake during stuff like that. They make you comfy, give some grape air and make you count down from 100... 99... 98... 9tyyyyyyyyy - ssssssseeeeeevvvveeeeeennnnnn... Then you wake up with a mouth full of gauze, float out of the building and have someone drive you home... after you pick up your pain killers.
  14. Shoot, I think mine only cost me a $200 co-pay about 15 yeqrs ago. And I got some really good drugs for $10 to boot! What a deal!!!
  15. Well you are the ONLY person I have come across using that "name"... come to think of it, you use a lot of terms I havent heard anywhere else!
  16. My second 11B23 truck is sitting in the bay waiting for a new TCM to replace the one that has lost communication with everything!
  17. That was a Grampy Jim reference. FMT - I think we can all agree that the 6.4L is a bit of a strange engine with the ways that they can fail. Perhaps the new calibration will help reduce the number of catastrophic failures we see over the years.
  18. Seriously. I have read in "other forums" here or there that it is illegal for a dealership to reprogram a truck without the owner's consent. I have never heard this bought up other than by some Super Duty owner proclaiming that he doesn't want the Stealership changing his truck by re-flashing it without his permission. I can see the owner's point and concede it is a fair to consider his wishes before changing the way his truck operates such as how the truck shifts or how long the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" warning appears. All to me seemingly stupid reasons considering some of the many important improvements to performance, safety and reliability though a loss in fuel economy would have me fit to be tied. But is it illegal to do so? Could this be considered changing the product that someone bought? Is that a crime? Are we criminals? If this were the case I would think that Ford would have made this very clear years ago and a policy would be in place concerning this matter.
  19. Ohhhhh ho ho ho no my friend. Not this customer. It's a "Geek Squad" truck (Circuit City?) with one of those fucking fleet service warranty/contracts. The last time I saw this truck it got a long block due to not changing the oil in 23 thousand miles. Covered! It's the drivers that keep pushing it until it breaks. How long do you think they were hearing the noise it was making? It reminds me of all those Ryder trucks with the million mile warranty.
  20. Have a 5.4L Econoline in that the customer drove with a failed FEAD belt tensioner until the belt failed. The pulley cut a nice circle in the front cover almost all the way through. It leaks oil now that I removed the pulley from the cover.
  21. Ahh! The devil is in the details.
  22. OMG that is flippin hilarious!
