  1. What is the build date and what calibration is in the PCM The reflash/recall that came out after that flame video was supposed to shut things fown if EGT's got out of hand...
  2. Therefore we might expect to see higher DEF usage?
  3. I just want to know how they can INCREASE power and at the same time INCREASE fuel efficiency.
  4. Okay, here we go... No additive though, just information.
  5. We have been seeing these for the last 1-1/2 to 2 years.
  6. I had heard some time ago that F650/F750 trucks were going to have this type of trans mission in them. I haven't seen any nor have I snooped into the service literature though...
  7. We had one stock unit that was making this noise. I made several recordings of it. It is a randomized tapping noise that really sounds like an old typewriter clacking away. At the time I did call the Hot-Line and I got the same response as typed above.
  8. First I have to ask why you would even want to do this? Unless you do not have Internet access all the service information you could possibly need is on-line at FMC Dealer. Also in order to use IDS you really should have an Internet connection to access calibration files and software updates. Second, to answer your question, the PC you want other PC's to access will need to have file sharing enabled. This is considered a dangerous practice as it leaves your computer open to malicious activity.
  9. I heard a rumor today that a TSB is in the works to address the typewriter noise some 6.7L engines develop. There is an additive for the oil... Anyone?
  10. This'll fix it... The customer stated the truck wasn't like that when he dropped it off!
  11. Is it similar to a 6.0L ECT/IAT2 sensor connector? Ironically we just went through that... I found connectors on the Delco website http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/
  12. Oh, The discharge tube and o-ring were *probably* not replaced at the time the pump was done. This is reinforcement to the idea that we should be replacing all seals and gaskets that we access during repairs. I don't recall what comes with the old style pump.
  13. Okay the diag is complete and this time the pump is not the culprit. The black o-ring on top of the discharge tube that seals it to the pump cover had deteriorated similar to the stand pipe o-rings.
  14. It's a 2003 6.0L that once upon a time got a new pump, IPR and ICP for low power. 10,000 miles later it won't start without help175 PSI ICP cranking. ICP voltage has the look of a bad pump... but not so I am going to look for a leak first as I should... just wondering if anyone has encountered repeat HPOP failures or bad reman pumps - old style.
  15. How's the nationalized healthcare working for ya? Thank heaven for governmant cheese eh? I feel for you Aaron.
  16. I honestly think in some cases the thought of serviceability is not a consideration at all.
  17. Yeah but have you ever dropped one on a concrete floor? They make a weird sound almost like a xylophone.
  18. Pretend that they are very expensive glass. They demand respect.
  19. Are you saying the engine calibration was changed for this, the pinpoint test specifications have been revised or both?
