  1. I had that happen to me once and in the same place. Seemed like there was an unusual amount of corrosion in a place where there really should be none. Not easy getting the manifold out with those broken bolts, is it!
  2. Is that a cover bolt? I guess it is by the size. On mine half of the ring gear bolts were loose, three came out and one ended up in the gears. Looked quite the same. In any event, that bolt did not belong in there! Ouch!
  3. I had a similar one last year. The ring gear bolts were falling out with the same result as pictured here.
  4. I thought it was illegal to sell a diesel truck with any emissions equipment removed or rendered inoperative - finable up to $37,500?
  5. That is backward. The B comes with the pressure switch.... the A does not. Which is also why it's about $100 cheaper. We may go with the A as we only need the one side that has no pressure switch.
  6. Well, it isn't rust and Ford approves B20. So if it is due to the use of bio I can't see Ford denying anything based on what we see here. I also think I have se that crud before too. Didn't think too much of it as I recall.
  7. And don't forget the Chevy Colorado Diesel, Nissan Titan Diesel... The vented exhaust tip suggests a different story than what Mr. Adamant is saying. Ford may not decide to go with a diesel but would they be testing a truck if they were not serious about it? This is interesting indeed and I can't wait to see how this plays out.
  8. Apparently they are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SEoBDcqzI8&feature=youtu.be&t=6m12s This Ford F-150 might have a Land Rover turbodiesel V6 Ford F150 Could Become the Segment's Most Efficient with a Land Rover Diesel - Torque News SPIED: 2017 Ford F-150 Diesel? 9. EOT would be more stable as the cooling system has a thermostat and the oil does not. I would also expect to see the coolant fluctuate slightly because of the thermostat but 20 degrees? And only 180? I don't know the spec but I imagine it should at least be 190 and fluctuate... Higher. Just thinking out load here...
  10. It does but you do not realize there is a delay in the EBP sensor reading. I recently had a 6.0L mess with me bad. Apparently, the carbon will restrict the boost pressure into, through the tube or into the sensor. My theory is that it causes a delay in showing the boost and likewise, ALSO causes the boost reading to show higher than actual when backpressure is relieved until the pressure can "filter" back out of the tube. This will cause problems with controlling the turbo especially after letting off the accelerator and getting back into it. The PCM sees the higher EBP reading and doesn't move the turbo thinking it's already where it needs to be. If you keep after it and make recordings you may see the PCM do things like open the EGR or pull the turbo closed all the way. On mine, it lacked power at times and then over boosted other times and then totally bogged down and choked on EGR trying to reduce boost by relieving back pressure. In my case it was causing the same symptoms as you are seeing on this 6.4L but my 6.0L kept setting a MAP/BARO correlation DTC. I did manage to make it set an EBP circuit code after a lengthy and aggressive road test. Unfortunately I missed the plugged fitting on the exhaust manifold. Live and learn!
  11. That depends on what you mean by "lost." He is still a member in good standing here. Just saying that his statistics indicate that it has been quite a while since he has last logged into these forums. That reminds me that it is time for the yearly "dragnet" member email.
  12. How do you know he does not work at a Ford dealer any more? BTW he is a DTS member. Hasn't logged in in 4 or 5 years apparently.
  13. I am curious... ask your parts guy for a price in that part number.
  14. This is for a 2008 but, they really seem to be the same. We ordered a kit... I think.
  15. Thought this was posted here in the past but I cant find anything. Does anyone have part numbers for that kit the factory tosses into the cab for the body builders to install filler necks - has hoses, metal elbows and clamps. Anyone?
  16. And what prompted me to look all this shit up and compile a lengthy summary? https://youtu.be/HN8L4ZTGtOs
  17. I am just curious as to what everyone here has concluded on this issue now that some time has passed. Here is where I am. Not one service or warranty document indicates a glow plug as the causal part of this type of engine failure. The original TSB 12-11-11 lists part number 6505 (exhaust valve) as the causal part. The TSB references glow plug damage (including glow plug circuit coded) as a diagnostic inspection for the purpose of identifying and verifying catastrophic engine damage. Our engine failure analasis reference guide makes no mention of failed glow plugs however it does reference "dropped valve guides" in the possible causes list. This service bulletin was later revised to change the causal part number to a 6006 (engine long block) and to revise the labor time from 18.3 hours to 20 The bulletin supercedes to TSB 14-0127 updating the causal part number to 6006 (engine long block assembly) and the labor time to hours 20.4. TSB 14-0147 states it much more clearly: "Some 2011 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and built on or before 3/29/2011 may exhibit a runs rough or no crank concern due to a broken exhaust valve. DTCs P0671, P0672, P0673, P0674, P0675, P0676, P0677 and/or P0678 may be stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) from a damaged glow plug. The glow plug circuit DTCs may also be accompanied by cylinder misfire DTCs, cylinder contribution DTCs or other engine performance DTCs." As far as I am concerned at this point, it is understood that the cylinder heads were redesigned to correct the exhaust valve seat concern resulting in a change in the glow plugs. Not the other way around. Someone please correct me if I am wrong and show me some sort of documentation to support that the glow plugs are the cause of this concern. The glow plug Reference Guide on the PTS website was published to advise technicians of this cylinder head and glow plug production running change, provide the part numbers for the glow plugs and show how to identify what cylinder head is installed on the engine and which glow plug is to be used. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.7 DIESEL – RUNS ROUGH – NO CRANK – GLOW PLUG CIRCUIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 3/29/2011 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 12-11-11 Reference Number(s): 12-11-11 Date of Issue: November 16 2012 FORD: 2011 F-Super Duty ISSUE Some F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and built on or before 3/29/2011 may exhibit a runs rough or no crank concern. 18. We are looking for an OEM part so these options are not viable. You have to carefully rad item descriptions as all I see are "discontinued and out of stock." That is why we are trying to figure out is a near/different model year would fit. For example, the F2AZ-2B091-A is available... but what changed when it became F2AZ-2B091-B ?
  19. I am looking for a brake proportioning valve for my buddies car. It is a 1994 Crown Victoria. It's the double valve mounted on a bracket on the left frame rail under the master cylinder. The part number is F2AZ-2B091-B It is obsolete and proving to be a bitch to locate. We put it on the locator but no dice. The part for a 1993 is available but what is the difference? Anyone know what changed?
