1. hold on, hold on! Form might get this one right.
2. I really can't see the tip of this valve as the picture is not very clear but I would say that the presence of metallic flakes indicates a pump failure and yes, the entire system needs to be replaced. Since I can't see it closely, I suggest you go to the 6.7L Job Aides on PTS and look at the 6.7L Fuel System Contamination Diagnosis job aid to complete your inspection and identify any possible contamination. I would dare say that a lack of evidence would mean it's a warranty repair. No rust, no signs of DEF or gasoline means it is covered provided the vehicle is within the warranty period. I would run my findings by the Hot-Line after completing the inspection be fore proceeding though.
3. Are you on vacation my Canadian hillbilly friend ?
4. I hear ya on that. Jersey tomatos and corn should ripen really nice. We have had some outstanding white corn recently.
5. We are beginning a 7-day heat wave in the Eastern U.S. and it's friggin hot already... supposed to be in the upper 90's all week. This is the kind of heat that makes your tools hot in a shaded shop with fans. Pick up an air tool or a wrench off of your cart and it almost feels like it has been laying on an engine.
6. The one I had that seized actually spun the crankshaft gear, engine lost time. Bent most of the pushrods, valves and damaged pistons. Took a complete long block to repair. That engine was fed DEF.
7. It actually sounds like the pump to me. Those old pumps can fail in two different ways and have some similar and some different symptoms.
8. As you can see you can still embed media in posts, we just need to familiarize ourselves with the new editor http://youtu.be/n4qMAknmwvU You just need to insert your media code/URL inside of media tags, use the Special Tags button... and yeah, I know there is a typo in the picture. It was early and I was rushing before work.
9. oooh yes, I forgot that I did that on the last one I did... removing the PCM and that stupid harness bracket made life sooooo much easier.
10. We tend to see one or two trucks with water in the fuel after local flooding... after hurricane Sandy I am sure there was an increase. It's amazing how people want to blame the truck, Ford or the dealer.
11. Bottoming tap sir. There is an SSM on this topc if you run OASIS on these trucks.
12. Thought the title might get your attention. In the past I have replaced EGT sensors with either two outcomes. The sensor comes out with no problems or on very rare occasion the sensor fitting totally seizes in the bung rendering the DPF damaged. I had one come out today just a wee bit rough toward the end damaging the threads just enough so that the new sensor's fitting would not seat and secure the sensor. Used a 12MM X 1.25 tap and fixed it up nicely. I initially tried a thread chaser but that actually cocked in the bore causing more problems.Point of the story? Use a TAP and not a thread CHASER.
13. At one time I thought we were beginning to think that some EGR cooler failures that allowed coolant to get into the engine oil were responsible for killing injectors.
14. I leave the intake on too but getting the nut backed off the EP tube bracket is indeed a booger... I don't know if removing the right front tire and wheel well to loosen the fitting is a decent trade-off. Not sure you can get at it without doing that.
15. You pity the demise of that which you despise with such disdain?
16. Nope. I fucked up the template. Fixed. You were on-line whilst I was messin with it.
17. It might be related to the mobile skin issue. something is "off" I have yet to see those titles.
18. Holy crap! And I thought the new Ford Transit was ugly. Mike, how much more powerful do you think the Ford I-5 diesel is going to be. I have a feeling that any previous diesel owners used to the power of a 6.0L or even a big V-8 gasser van are going to be disappointed. I guess it won't be too much longer before we find out though. I really want to see and drive these (both the transit and the Ram) before I make a real judgment though. Since my dealer is also a Dodge Ram dealer I may get to drive both!
19. Trust me, it was not a bug.
20. This is what an intermittent check engine light with a P0401 in continuous memory. It will pass the KOER test. It will pass pinpoint tests and not really look screwy in Data Logger.
21. Since you own the truck already I suppose you don't need the vehicle information... so the warranty history is pretty darn clean. Only recall 05S28 shows in the extended warranty history.
22. Part 4 for those who cant count Roman style.
