Not sure where to put this, so hear it goes. A/C Freon has been confirmed, charged to spec but does not operate. When I attempt to select A/C, the indicator on the HVAC control only flashes and doesn't come on. I've checked it for DTCs (using my own generic scan tool) and it comes up with no DTCs (PCM). The temp gauge does move up to 3/4 of the range, and while monitoring ECT the hottest I've managed to get it up to, is 110*C. I have a feeling the two concerns are one in the same, because the cooling fans don't come on. Accelerate up to speed, and the ECT drops to 98*C. I've pressure tested the cooling system with no leaks or pressure drop found. Anyone have any further information to offer before I tell the advisor to ship it to the GM store next door?

This is why I ALWAYS check with the dipstick to see if there is in fact any engine oil in any new long block I install. I never trust what the tag says. FWIW, I just installed a long block 1.6 into a Fusion two weeks ago that came with a new oil filter but no engine oil in the crankcase.

'05 Escape 2.3 four banger with a hole in the block. How in the fuck does an eleven year old vehicle have ESP? They want me to tear it down for the inspector to come and see. And what the hell is to point to doing a cost cap when the only particular part of the engine "available" is a 6006 assembly (not even a 6009)?

Posts like this only reinforce my decision even further not to even think about getting one of those "hot" FICMs for my truck.

HA!!!! This is VERY interesting that someone has finally posted a thread about this. I just so happen to own a 2007 F-250 4x4 CCSB XLT truck myself, optioned out very similarly. When I bought my truck, it came with the added on two button style remotes, so I have no panic button. Just LOCK and UNLOCK (locking it arms the alarm). My truck is equipped with Park Aid and Adjustable pedals, ESOF, TBC (which I have NEVER used), upfitter switches (which I have also never used) as well as fog lights. What it doesn't have is AUTOLAMP (which the Crown Vic I previously owned did). So it came equipped with all of the above mentioned, as well as power door locks, windows and power mirrors, but no RKE? Go figure. Here is what I KNOW so far. All 2005 to 2007 trucks equipped with the RKE you desire, also has AUTOLAMP (whether it has fog lights or not) as well as the five digit entry keypad on the driver's door because all are controlled by the vehicle security module. The module by itself, reasonably enough priced that I would be willing to pay the price for a new one assuming there isn't too much needed to be added, in order to have the added functionality of the AUTOLAMP. Being able to install a factory five digit keypad on the driver's door and adding two factory OEM remotes would only be a bonus for me. I have looked into this myself for the last couple of years already, by looking on Ebay for other identically model yeared trucks with exactly the same options, but equipped with AUTOLAMP and RKE, pulled the VINs and checked HvBOM for the instrument panel harness part numbers. On my truck (VIN# 1FTSW21P87EB45671), it indicates part number 6C3Z-14401-JA, the same as it does on another truck's VIN that I stole off Ebay, but with the desired AUTOLAMP/RKE. Here's the kicker. I pulled the block-off plug beside the defroster vent register to where a sunload sensor would normally be, and sure enough, the wiring connector is there. BUT ....... when I removed the sliding cupholder, audio unit and storage compartment from the instrument panel, I was unable to locate the three wiring harness connectors to the VSM!!! Having said that, if anyone can either post pictures or KNOW for sure if those three connectors are there, I would be very open to adding those options. This would mean, I would need a new headlight switch, sunload sensor and VSM to add to my shopping list. BTW, the VSM part number I believe is 4C7Z-15604-AC for those interested.

Typical compression test results.
mchan68 replied to lmorris's topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
The compression ratio on these engines is only 16:1 if I'm not mistaken. That said, I would think compression pressure readings on the lower end of the spectrum to be the norm. -
Why is the topic of this title "EFC08312"? Does that happen to be the last eight of the VIN in question by any chance?
-
Exactly what Alex said. Mine ended up being a long block after I cost capped it. If you do what Hotline tells you to do, you can potentially end up with new parts charged out on the repair only to be wasted.

YUP. They have identical valvetrain layouts.

2012 Fiesta engine replacement caused by coolant emptying into crankcase. God these engines are so cute looking.

The last 6.4 I had that came in with the rocker arm looking like that ended up being the roller lifter with roller itself MIA. ADDED: These 6.4s are also notorious for prematurely wearing out the rocker arm tips like the one you posted in your PIC.

I've seen my share of ones completely cracked like the one in your post above.

...which only adds credence to choosing the aftermarket ones with the metal impellers nip this problem in the bud.

Never mind. I found it. 4C3Z-12B568-AA for an astronomical price too.

That TSB number comes up for a Mountaineer inner fender.

Does anybody have a part number for both the green and black wiring pigtail connectors for the GPCM listed above? I can't seem to find one. Thanks in advance.

EGR Cooler Performance (P2457)

Again, how do you access the EBP tube nut? There's also the two plastic pushpins from the sound insulator that really pisses me off. How do you access those? Do you just break and replace? The last time I checked on the price of those I was blown away. -
I thought batteries on diesel trucks were supposed to be connected parallel anyways. Why wouldn't they have opted to replace the whole 14300 cable? Last time I checked, the price isn't really that bad.

I kid you not gentlemen, this ad was posted today. http://www.carsandjobs.com/job/detailer/8872/ You think I should apply?

Not sure if I was going to post this in the Parts section or the 6.7 Section but here it is anyways. If I'm not mistaken, both are high pressure fuel system kits for a 6.7 with the exception that the FC3Z prefix kit is for '15s while EC3Z is for '11 to '14s. Here's the kicker, according to the listing, the kit for '15s DOES NOT include injectors. What gives? Why would every other part in the fuel system be included if that was the intent, but exclude the injectors? Also, I just noticed the injectors and HPOP numbers are also different between '11 to '14 model years versus '15s. Anyone care to comment or add further information?

EGR Cooler Performance (P2457)
mchan68 replied to the_twig_187's topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Well, going forward I am NEVER going to touch that tube again, at least not where it goes into the crossover. I will bend the shit out of the tube where it connects to the right side lower manifold if I ever find myself having to remove the upper intake for any reason anymore. There HAS TO be something wrong with that connection, and it's neither the tube nor the crossover. The tube was not bent, burred or damaged in any way during removal so I'm stumped. Neither is the bore where the tube slides into. -

Well, that goddamn tube is causing be a lot of grief with the one I'm presently working on, and losing my shirt over. Make that THREE attempts to get that damn tube to seal properly to the coolant crossover. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: -

Speaking of the upper intake, those four bolts on the driver side, along with that damn wastegate hose sure are fun to wrestle with. -

Me three^. Anyone of you guys ever have issues with the stupid o-ring on that damn metal tube going into the coolant crossover? This is the second 6.7 I've been into that that damn o-ring got nicked going back together. -
Not just the remans are junk. ALL 6.4s are junk.
