  1. It's the hitting the frozen ground and breaking your wrist part I wouldn't look forward to...
  2. Yep... well, one more round on Sunday I think... we're now entering the month where it is too cold to golf, and there's not enough snow for skiing...
  3. Chris, I recently turned down a job offer with the Toronto Transit Commission... I'm now kicking myself in the ass on a pretty regular basis for turning it down because it only paid 75K.
  4. When other shops call us for information for that reason, I usually tell them something ridiculously low, like maybe 3 hours...
  5. Bruno, there is a towing company up your way that has a big, ugly, blue heavy tow Autocar... Value Propane always seems to use them to tow their crap...
  6. They have the same trigger wheel... I have personally never seen a wobbly one on a 6.0 or a 4.5, but it had to be ruled out...
  7. From looking at an Autocar, I think they look alot like old Peterbilts... If that's true, I wonder if anything is compatable...
  8. I'm in a training course this week, and it was "hinted" that training is "supposed" to start around December of this year...
  9. I've had to replace a harness on a 4.5 for that reason. But it was on an '08 with the rubber cased harness. It was a biotch to figure out... After replacing the sensor, dropping the oil pans to check the trigger wheel (really easy on an LCF) and swapping PCMs with a stock vehcile, there was really only one option left. And luckily it was the right option.
  10. I think I've only ever seen one Autocar in my life... I'm not going to sweat too much over that...
  11. 2 years ago, after a massive weekend of rain, an ambulance fleet we service had 3 IDMs go down on the same weekend. They then decided to replace the IDMs on the rest of the fleet (about 10), and let us keep the old ones... nice, eh? So everybody now has a tester... Now that I've got that out of the way, an IDM can cause that. Alot of the time, a visual inspection of the IDM, along with a good sniff can give an idea of the condition it is in.
  12. The left side is really straight forward. Remove the intake duct and cold side tube. Disconnect the PCM connectors and move the wiring out of the way, unbolt the dipstick tube. Remove the GPCM and bracket, push the EBP tube forward slightly to allow the CCV to clear, unbolt the valve cover and pull it out the back. A 12mm flex-head ratchet wrench makes it quite simple. Once the valve cover is out of the way, the rest is just as easy.
  13. Where it says PCM, TCM and FICM on the mode 9 screen, those are headers... the calibration is on row directly below the header... And they all seem to have ARZ2AL01...
  14. We are fighting over the exact same thing on a few orders. The TSBs list 3 calibrations that have inductive heating, so I just tell them what they want to hear. I find most of them have the 3rd one on the list.
  15. I heard it on the news on my way home from work today... If I'm not mistaken, I think they also said he was getting a $23M payout...
  16. Removing the left motor mount is really easy if you don't follow the book. I just remove the intake duct and CAC duct, jack the engine off the bellhousing with a jack and a 4X4, slide the mount out and lower the engine back down untill there is just a little tension on the powersteering return hose. And, being an ambulance you'll find it so easy to remove the secondary alternator once the engine is tilted.
  17. This is too much fun... I wonder if the guys at "The Dufus Stop" miss us?
  18. I don't work on them at all, but I don't see too many come through the other side. The most common issue that I have seen on my trips from the truck shop to the parts department is hanger bearings on the AWD.
  19. I think you should have used "Ukranian Tri-pod"... going back to the engine stand thread we had some time ago... and nothing to do with your genetilia.
  20. What a terd this guy is. Is "Rex" a short-form for "Ralph"? I've hopped aboard as "PieKiller".
  21. I "borrowed" and photocopied a nice one out of a fleet vehicle some time ago, but some a$$hole lost it...
  22. Thanks, Jim. What we are looking for is something we can give to our customers when we perform annual and semi-annual PMCVI inspections, or multi-point inspectons.
