  1. Is it really that much of a secret? I've got this one all figured out...
  2. Wow, Aaron... that is one "familiar" looking Black and Mac truck... I have an Aecon truck apart right now with the same Altec boom body on it... however, mine would not run. On the bright side, Altec builds them with an electric motor that will run the hydraulics if the engine won't run, leaving the PTO useless... it's about time somebody put some thought into something... Oh, and I rotated the boom along with lifting it so I could get the cab all the way up. being on the topic, does anybody else notice boom trucks and 6.4s don't mix too well?
  3. I'd agree with the d-rings as well. If you think 6.0s are bad for eating them up, well, the 4.5 is even hungrier. And, keep in mind that after repair, it will take much longer to get the air out of the system, since the oil manifolds are massive compared to the 6.0 manifolds. So, you may think it's not fixed, when in fact the leak has been repaired. Also, don't forget to check the plug on the left oil manifold that blocks the hole where the ICP sensor would fit if it were on the right bank. They are VERY common to come loose and leak. If you have some left over plugs from the 6.0 STC kit, they are the same.

  5. Banks doesn't pay. They got the customer's money, and that's all they were after.
  6. How much is a Big-Mac going for in Fort McMoney these days?
  7. My ex calls me a stalker when I do that... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif
  8. I have seen wiring damage way up into the harness from ICP sensor leaks... I've seen them just about melt the 3 wires together also... A leaking ICP sensor is just about always gives a biased signal. Check your KOEO ICP voltage... it should read around 0.18V... Replacing the sensor and pigtail using the proper crimp connections is a reliable fix. I think that's what you're asking.
  9. It probably makes the air induction noise louder... which some "half-wits" associate with "faster"...
  10. Is it an early or late build? What is the ICP doing during the concern?
  11. I've come to terms with the fact that most of our "friends" on those other web-sites have little to no respect for our environment... but I hope that isn't going to become a trend over here... Just my /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif
  12. None of the above... I don't work on them. I was just figuring replacement plugs would come at the correct gap.
  13. Now, I'm positive I can go on and on about the things that have pissed me off at work these past 2 weeks, I have to rant about one thing in particular. Thursday night, I ventured into the world of a broken 3V spark plug. Okay, no problem there's a tool to get the porcelin out... but I couldn't find it. Yesterday morning I asked the tune-up guys where it was, they told me the ASM had lent it out. They also had told me they urged him to not let anybody borrow it, but since it was a "good" customer of the parts department, we "had" to give it to them... I finally found the kit, all the pins were gone and not replaced, the loctite lid was off and dried up, and the puller slightly mangled... but that's not the real point of the rant... I called a friend at a dealer just east of the city, he told me they had lent theirs out, and did not get it back, called another friend at another dealer, and was told that theirs was also lent out and only half came back... so, why do we as dealers lend these tools out?? to our competetors no less?? I understand that parts department makes money off these guys... money if you ask me is being stolen from our shop... but, how much money is our shop LOSING because of the down bay, and all the running around that needs to be done to rectify the situation?? I once asked the PM to keep a set of 6 LCF injectors in stock, but was told we don't move them quick enough, and they stood to lose money having them... isn't that just about the same as the situation we (service) find our-selves in right now??
  14. I just thought I'd wish everybody a great weekend, as I am just about to start drinking myself into a coma! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  15. Why not just replace the spark plugs instead?
  16. I too am more than willing to take a tip, but will try to refuse it at first, but only once. All the guys in the commercial shop keep a common "piggy bank" that we put all of our tip money, scrap metal money and scrap battery money and use it to do things like by ourselves a lunch, play the lottery, or junk like that...
  17. I take my coffee like I take my woman... Ground up and in the freezer. Ouch... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif
  18. I just replaced a dash harness on a 2005 F-550 last week... What's it worth to ya?? Really now, if it's that important, I can cut the plug out and send it to you if you'll send me the backordered one when it arrives...
  19. I just plain ol' hate the 6.4 all together right now...
  20. I recall being told by an International FSE that there have been issues with oil cooler covers leaking.
  21. But how can you justify doing that if the published procedure does not call for cab removal?? If anybody at my shop tried to refuse a job for that reason, they'd be handing out resumes the same day...
  22. I heard of that happening months ago... Infact, our dealer decided to not renew the Sterling brand, and have purchased a Hino franchise instead... what's next?
  23. Nope... we don't matter up here... we are just pawns...
