  1. I believe this task is a bit more difficult than anticipated... no big deal, I'm off to Myrtle Beach for 10 days, maybe my parts department can figure it out by then!
  2. Can any of our resident parts gurus help me out with finding an engine harnerss for an LCF? VIN 3FRML55Z48V681041... thanks to anyone that tries, as our parts department usually has a pretty hard time with these... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/notworthy.gif
  3. I'm pretty sure our local CAT house has a cleaning machine. I wonder if they'd be willing to tackle ours... Knowing CAT, I doubt it, but you never know...
  4. Same here... I've had the same concern caused by a bad turbo... but the kicker is, the turbo I replaced was also bad... turns out that some of these turbos are subject to "shelf-rot" because of slow turn around... a second turbo and all was well.
  5. Bummer... they pulled the video... I'm thankful I had a chance to see it!
  6. The truck is way better... the engine may not be. We have a few customers that have added Sterling Bullets to their fleets, and hate them immensely.
  7. I've only ever had one person complain about it. Hotline had me replace the gear and pump, and guess what... no difference... They then continued to say it was a characteristic of the cab over design /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif, and to compare to like unit... yada, yada, yada...
  8. Straight from the pages of the "what were they thinking" files... Do you think she actually read the script before agreeing to her lines?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jxq6ZS3ms8
  9. Could you imagine what this place will be like when Jim hits 13K posts?? Keith's gonna need to find a bigger server! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
  10. Don't you mean "jeans"? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif
  11. I remember it being a hardware number, I think you'll find it in the alternator wiring section.
  12. See this topic... http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubb...=true#Post13159
  13. I've been using that site for fuel economy specs. for years. I find it way more accurate than window stickers...
  14. I think I have a new hobby now... thank god, cause the guitar hero was killing my hands! Here's another one from our friends at TDS... "if you are using Amsoil in your 6.0 I will be happy to inform you, I have oil samples of 6.0 engines that have oil samples with 22,000 miles and the oil was still good for continued use. the oil sample is your oil change reciept if you have any engine issues. the dealer cant tell you a word on the subject. I personally have run the 5w30 HDD over 40,000 miles without a change and have the oil sample to prove it. dont let others that have no experience on the subject sway you with opinions. Amsoil makes the best products on the market period." on edit: quoting TDS
  15. Really, the right? With the evaporator box removed you could virtually have a picnic in there... I thought you could install the studs after the heads are in place... unbolting the transmission from the rear mount and jacking it up to get the rear left stud in... I don't know, as I have never installed studs, but that is the impression that I'm under...
  16. I haven't like a damn thing Metallica has done since Justice...
  17. I got into arguing simply because somebody is saying that it's safe to disconnect 7.3 fuel injectors while the engine is running... and that fuel injectors will not cause a no start cold on a 7.3.
  18. Now, can I call on any of my friends to help me out here, http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/f24/truck-wont-start-w-o-block-heater-207207/ ... I find sometimes that trying to be helpful can just be a waste of time.
  19. Our dealership gives an 8 hour a day guarantee for working Saturdays. Which seems good, but in reality, they really just hold back a few appointments that would have been made during the week to make sure the Saturday schedule is full, and the guarantee doesn't need to get paid out too often... another reason I'm glad I don't work in the car shop.
