  1. Wow never seen this before in a recall letter.
  2. Cool Thanks for the info ! Could low quality def cause usage problems?
  3. Has anyone heard when this thing is going to hit the streets? or any other info for that matter.
  4. This is an old topic, but now that 6.7 has been out for a couple of years I was hoping that someone has come across a def usage problem. I have a 2012 f-350 drw and the customer states that he went thru 40-50 litters of def with in 10 000 kms. I have no codes at all, performed dosing test and found it made 50 ml's of def. The hotline did not give me anything to chew on, so I was wondering what else I could look at and test. Thanks
  5. Just finished putting two long blocks into a 2013 f-150 eco boost. The truck came in locked up with rods out both sides of the block. The first long block went it with out a hitch. Coming back from my road test I heard a noise. That long block only lasted 6 kms before it damaged a rod bearing on #5. I am not too sure why but maybe they left some debris when they re built this long block.. Installed long block #2 in record time, road tested and was very happy to find this one is not making noise. Knock on wood
  6. That is very odd. I have never seen mls head gaskets leak so much that it would smoke out the tail pipe. Who's long block? Ford's? I would have a close look at the heads for sure.
  7. Alex, have you found anything on the truck your are working on?
  8. The exhaust systems on these trucks have more sensors in the exhaust then early obd cars had on the engine!
  9. How did you guys catch the sticking egr valve. Did it leave a code? or do you have a vdr in the truck?
  10. I have ran into the same thing, intermittent white smoke. I have never really found anything on any of the trucks I have worked on. I have heard some talk of a inefficient cat converter causing these issues, but have not found any diag steps to help prove this. Sorry thats all i could add.
  11. I forget the tsb # but it was on a fusion and I had to check the cam caps for wear and replace the cam and cam cap. I did it in car and I will put that as my most hated job ever so far! I think it paid something like 9 hours and in the end I had 19 into it. That front cover in the fusion is almost impossible to get back in without damaging the seals in car.
  12. Does anyone know how many vt365 engines were sold compared to the 6.0 powerstroke?
  13. We have the norco stand with the 6.0/6.4 adapters. I like it alot and its not too expensive .
  14. You can lift a reg cab with three arms. I have a 18k rotary hoist and have done it a couple of times, just put a tall stand so people don't give you funny looks. I got the tip from Dwayne a couple of years ago.
  15. This is kind of on topic, did you here about the fuel station near Minneapolis that got purposely contaminated diesel fuel. There are a lot of trucks down because of this. That sucks big time!!!!!
  16. The bulletin # is psm 2013-227N(A), which I can't find on inford anymore.
  17. Has anyone heard what the problem is and why they have the stop sale?
  18. What kind of engine hone are you using and where did you get it from?
  19. This is a first for me. Back to back retail egr/oil coolers and a 6.4 like the Leons with a hole right thru the dpf sensor.
  20. That is looks very cool, now lets chip it and delete the scr hahaha just kidding
  21. Thanks for the link. I set it up and it still gives me the same warning. The funny thing is I can at least log on with firefox and get the main page, but it will not even get that far with internet explore. I give up on my laptop, I just put boot camp on my mac and I got it running for now. Thanks again
  22. I can't get on the inford website with my accer laptop with windows 7. It loads a screen that tells me this page can't be displayed. I know my internet is working, does anyone know what settings have to be changed?
  23. I had the IR cordless impact and did not have much good luck with it, The $170 batteries lasted just as long as the warranty and then went for a shit. I now have the snap-on 14.4 impact and I am very happy with it, and way more jam then the IR.
