  1. I would get an esp warranty but don't get diesel care, i don't think it covers the after treatment stuff. I think the only real problem with these new diesels is if you get a fault with the after treatment system you could be sitting on the side of the road in the middle of no wear idling to the next Ford dealer. I don't know why they are so hard on diesel, why doesn't a gas car go into idle only mode when there is a fault with the emission system. I know that not all faults with the after treatment system will put you into idle only mode, I just think that part of it is a real down side.
  2. Shit I forget the reason but I ended up having to get one off an old harness from a junk yard. Sorry my bad, should have posted the out come sooner.
  3. I have had a rash of 2012's all with around 23 000 kms coming in idle only mode with code p207f and some times with p204f p20ee. Most of them have already had nox sensors installed and have now come back with the same code(s). I have had a couple with tail pipes that are dirty and have what looks like small bits of carbon on the inside diameter of the tail pipe. I have performed pinpoint test rd,ka and w and have not found anything wrong, inspected the down pipe for liquids, and have not found a bad egr cooler. I have ended up replacing the scr system in all of them but I don't understand why so many are failing like this. Just would like to know what you guys have been seeing and doing, it just feels like I might be missing something.

  5. Did you guys use new bolts for the water pump? do you realy need to replace them as it tells you to do in the wsm? they are usa stock which mean 7-10 days for me in Canada.

  8. I can not find a post that talked about egr cooler failures be the next big thing. I can't remember who posted, but I am wondering how they are failing, are they just plugging up with carbon or are they leaking coolant internally.
  9. I don't think they will make it a recall because if they did not make the stc fitting in the 05's to 09 6.0 then I don't think they would move on the 6.4 pump gasket.

  11. Does this guy go thru deep water. Another tech in our shop had one that had filled the vapour canister reservoir with water. Would run good till it tired to purge and then would put water in the tank and run like shit and not start, if I am remembering correctly.
  12. I know you said the turbo is new, but I would just still have a look at the exhaust side of the turbo just to make sure the new one is not leaking a small amount of oil.

  19. My parts guy tells me that he can not get this pigtail conector, only serviced in the harness. Is there a pigtail conector that will work? thanks

  21. The guy nailed it, it just plain cost more to run a diesel in North America. My friends just got rid of a 2011 VW diesel, with well under 100 000 kms. Minor engine problems like sensors and stuff started causing them to have $2000 hits at the repair shop.
  22. I have a 2012 super duty that came from the factory without the upfitter switches. My question is can the upfitter switches be added? Parts shows a harness that goes in back, just wondering if all I need is the switches and the harness to make it work ?
