  1. If crankcase pressure is under spec. and a manual compression test shows good cylinders. I would check this especially with the white smoke and rough idle. Do you have combustion in the fuel rails. Does it have the blue spring updated fuel pressure regulator? That would be a good sell as well.
  2. I always replace the two bolts as well. No leakers yet
  3. And if all of the above noted stuff checks out put a pressure gauge on the cooling system and drive the shit out of it to see if you have high cooling system pressure. I had one 6.4 that had leaking head gaskets and damaged cylinder heads.
  4. I have done that once. I did not like putting a flame that close to the fuel tank but I did it and will never do it again
  5. Thanks for the pictures MIke. I could not get the arms to hold, the engine would slide down when I went to roll it over. So I gave up on that and went on a hunt thru are tool room and I found the rotunda brackets that just bolt to the block. I was very happy I found the brackets and very sad I did not look for them sooner. The lesson hear is that you will never know what you can find hidden in the shop tool room.
  6. Just woundering if anyone has a picture of a 7.3 diesel mounted on a rotisserie style engine stand. I just want to see were you put the arms. Thanks
  7. It was cool putting a face to the name and very nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and have a good flight back. Talk to you later
  8. So is there going to be a recall for the faulty injector hold downs that are still on truck's ?
  9. It's worked for me too. I had one that I put the new nox sensor and updated the pcm, did a re gen and p164a came right back. I did the ten coast downs checked the mode 6 data and it has been good now for over 3 weeks now.
  10. I have had a 6.7 with that egr code too. I forget the code but a egr valve fixed it.
  11. Shit I just got my replacement today. Hope my socket last longer then one pull !
  12. That is a sad but very true statement.
  13. This Lady sounds like a joke ! Is the rest of the dealership this dumb or is it just this Lady.
  14. Give this a watch. Very good perspective on the trades
  15. Nice work Brad ! That must of taken some time to put that together. Thanks for the good info.
  16. Thats what I thought, but when I called the hotline they wanted the oil cooler replaced as well. I will have to double check with them in the am
  17. I have my first one that needs a egr cooler and oil cooler. Can this be done with the body on or is it best to remove the body?
  18. And they will kick back the claim when Ford inspects to pump and finds out its seen water.
  19. I just reprogrammed a truck today with ids 72.03 and I still have a code p164a after the programming. I replaced the nox sensor because it had p207F,reset nox and scr system and performed a manual regen and p164a comes back after driving it 10 kms. It passes koeo and koer but shows up in cmdtc's. I will not be able to do anymore diag as they are taking the truck way up north were they live. I hope it's not the programme that is still causing this code to come back because I don't know how much longer some customers can wait to get this fixed.
  20. Why not. Fix the motor up and make out like a bandit.
  21. I just got 2010 6.4 in today, stalled on highway. I checked the oil level and it is high. The engine is locked up so I went to remove the glow plug harness for #8 and oil/fuel just starts flowing out. This thing is full right to the top. Wow!
