  9. Keith do you remove the egr cooler bracket and install the pins or do you just install new clamps and re install the cooler?
  10. checked for flow at the heater core and found none, water pump was cracked so I replaced it and re road tested, now eot goes to 225 and ect was a 206,replaced oil cooler and leak tested egr cooler,no leak at the egr cooler, flushed and re road tested now the truck eot and ect are dead on and the cooling system does not build lots of pressure, thanks for the input
  11. ect is 230 eot 184,pulled the intake to degas hose and I have no coolant flow, the truck runs good I just did not push it hard, can a pluged oil cooler cause no flow back to the degas?
  12. the truck is an early 2004 tow truck with 300 000 km,cust has flushed coolant but still comes back smelling burnt and today it started to overheat,I had one befor that looked like this but it was blowing white smoke so I know were to go with that truck,I was just wounder if leaking headgaskets could cause the same thing as well because this truck is not blowing white smoke?,the rad is clean and newer and the fan is working, just seeking advice
  13. got the go ahead today!!! just have to order the parts now, that almost 2 months nice !!!!!!!
  14. sorry for your loss, take care Larry hope you and your family are well
  15. that's where this one sits, the insurance company is being plane dumb about this and the owner of the truck is not happy,I think the insurance company is waiting to put this one on next month's numbers.thats why there are taking so long,oh well I feel for the owner of the truck
  16. thanks for the input, I did not think that anyone would put used parts into an engine like this,we told them no way we are doing this job with used parts,we have yet to hear back from the insurance compan. Happy B-day Dwayne!!!!! are you going to drink some beer tonight
  17. so I got this job the other day and started to work on it,gave the insurance company the list and about a month later got a go ahead,so after a spun 4 cab bolts I went to get may parts, they parts guy gave me a box from the junk yard!!!!! 8 injector ( no fuel tubes no seals kits and no caps to cover the openings) and a high pressure pump thats it!! has anyone had to use used parts befor? can it or should it be done? the other thing that worries me is that the hotline always adds things to the list that are not in that svb bulletin like the hfcm, any advice would be helpful
  18. a 2008 6.4 diesel filled with gas, it only took the insurance company one month to give us the go ahead!
  19. in the end we just replaced the front cover,we can not get the old style front cover any more,it comes as a kit,04 and up cover and water pump, oh well I guess next time I know better
  20. the back of the front cover looks like a record,it has groves that I was thinking it was just from the impeller hitting it when it broke, when the first pump broke I installed I new belt and serp belt tensioner and filled with 50/50 gold coolant,it is a ford part but I don't know if it is a reman I will have to look into that
  21. I had this one come in for no heat in the winter, the water pump impeller had broken off,so I replaced it and all was good, comes back 2 weeks later same problem, replaced the water pump and off it went, a week later same thing,so I called the hotline and told me that it was do to bad water pumps and how they are shipped,so they told me to keep replacing water pumps till I find I good one or replaced the front cover to the new style so you can put the bigger water pump in,has anyone heard of this or I am missing something that be causing the impeller to bust off? one other note is that this is a reman engine that no longer has warranty
  22. If this guy did this on purpose he going to wish he never did, that original engine is 10 times what the reman will be,we had a customer do that to a mustang for engine noise,he wanted a new engine(his warranty was almost up) but there was nothing wrong with it,so he took his car to the back of our lot and put it to the floor and redlined it till there was noise, I guess this guy though that no one would see what he just did because he came back and tried to get warranty, needless to say he did not get warrnaty, what some people will do whene the warranty is almost up!
  23. I had one as well that turned out to be the ipr,it was an 04 f-450 when it would get hot I would get p2623 as a hard fault,I could never get my hands in there to test the resistance, by the time I did it would pass,so I removed the ipr valve and put I heat gun to it,hooked test leads up to it and at 180 it would go open,
