I also used the combustion gas analizer and it did change colour. replacing it today. Hey Jeff, I was getting calls for about 3 months, everyother day. then I just stopped returning their calls. Guess who's truck this is ...Stephane Michaud. subletted up to me to fix because they don't have the time or the techs! HA, HA!

dtcs for all left bank cylinders misfire. fuel injector leak test passed , but the relitive comp. test showed that cylinder #6 and #8 were 6, and 8 percent. lngtrm fuel trim was -13% on left bank and +4 on the right bank. This is a 2004 modle. with 120km. coils have been swapped back and forth with no change. Ford had us verify base engine timming.ok. Also, the head has been replaced 2 times.as per Ford. This idles like a piece of crap, but it cruises and has lots of power. only has miss at idle.

I have an 06 e450 with an intermittant ratcheting noise from trans while shifting between second and the rest of the gears. cant duplicate on the jack stands. removed trans and dissasembled expecting to find a damaged one way clutch and only the low one way sounds a little funny. te rest of the trans seems ok and the friction materials seem fine. Found out from the city fleet mech. that they have been using merc.5 insted of merc.SP. any ideas Hotline said there are no known concerns for noise in these units.

Every cup has been done and head gaskets replaced. gaskets seemed ok. flushed sysetm over and over. bus is gone and now we wait.

Thanks for the response Kevin. I'll give it a shot and see what I can come up with. I did order all the rubber for this truck thinking that could happen.

Hey guys, I have a 03 short bus with the de-gas bottle half full of fuel. I have removed all injectors and press. tested system and no obvious leaks. So then I plugged in the block heater and kept the press. on the cooling system. How long sould I have to wait to see a leak? I know I will have to pull heads for this fix, but was looking for some tips. thanks

I to am leaving my place of employment at James Braden Ford and heading to another Ford dealer. Where I will be getting a straight time pay for wrenching on diesels compaired to flat rape that I get here.

Thanks fellas. gut the truck all buttoned up this afternoon. It was a bit of a fight at first trying to slip the HP pump cover out but I finally got it. Not a really bad job, but I could think of better things to do. P.S, Thanks to Jeff (good diesel guy) for the tips over the phone. They really helped alot.
-
My mistake Keith. I guess I should be more careful.
-
I sure hope you were aimming those comments at the other tech that I mentioned and not myself. I was merly asking a question in hopes of getting some technical support from my fellow diesel enthusists. If I'm not mistaken, Ford can't gain access to these forums without being checked out by Keith first to see if indeed they are who they say they are. Maybe I am taking this the wrong way, and if so I am sorry. Thanks for the responses guys.

Hey guys, I have an 05 F-350 that has a high press oil leak at the fitting to the HP pump to the branch tubes. Just wondering if there were any steps to make this a little more enjoyable? and also how fast are you guys doing these. A tech in the dealership younder says he can do them in an hour.
