YUP YUP SEEN MORE THAN A FEW THIS YEAR. ONE THINGS FOR SURE THE PREMIUM GOLD CLEARS OUT OF THE EXAUST MUCH QUICKER THAN THE OLD GREEN ANTIFREEZE. ANY OF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY LUCK WITH THE INJECTOR PERFORMANCE SHEET? HAVE A 2004 F450 WITH OVERFUELING SMOKE AND SMELL AT IDLE AND WOT. RUNS GREAT AND NO POWER LOSS. FUEL PSI GOOD,POWERBALANCE SHOWS NO CONCERNS.RELATIVE COMPRESSION ALL GOOD, IDS HAS NO DTC'S AT ALL. NOT EVEN SMOKE ON ACCELERATION,CLEAN. ICP AND IPR NORMAL, NO BIASED SENSORS. I PERFORMED THE INJECTOR PERFORMANCE SHEET AND CAME UP WITH 2 CYLINDERS. WHAT DO YOU THINK BEFORE I GO AND YANK-EM

THAT S.O.B ALMOST GOT ME. THE EGR VALVE WAS VERY SLIGHTLY CRACKED OPEN.EVEN EGRVP VOLTAGE WAS WITHIN SPEC AND PASSED ALL EGR TESTS.WHAT GOT ME WAS THE "FLUTTER" ON ACCELERATION. NEVER HEARD IT ON ACCELERATION,ONLY DECEL. TO BOOT THE TURBOCHARGER WAS LOCKING UP, FIGURED THAT WAS THE DEAL SO REPLACED IT BUT MY SURPRISE IT WAS STILL THERE. I DONT WANT TO SOUND LIKE AN A-HOLE BUT I HAD THE SAME ISSUE ENDED UP BEING A CAM SENSOR. HAD RPM AND NO DTC'S AT ALL.REPLACED IT AND WALLAH. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif OH BY THE WAY BETTER ADD MORE DIAG TIME BACUSE THE NEW PRICES OF THE CAM SENSORS MAKES YOU WONDER WHY THEY WERE SO MUSH $$ BEFORE. -
MAY BE A STUPID QUESTION BUT DO YOU GUYS SEE ANY ISSUES WITH WIRING THE TURBO ACTUATOR ADAPTER TO A REGULAR SCOPE? SAY FOR THE GUYS WHO HAVE THEIR OWN IDS BUT CANT AFFORD THE 5G'S FOR THE VMM.

THANKS DWAYNE! WASN'T A CONSISTANT POP LIKE THAT. IT WAS AT ABOUT 12-1400RPM ON ACCELERATION UNDER LOAD.SAME FLUTTER SOUND AS THE DECEL EVENTS IVE SEEN A MILLION TIMES. WELL IT ALWAYS AMAZES ME WHAT PARTS FORD SELLS. THE EGR WAS REPLACED ABOUT 1 HOUR AGO FOR A POSITION ERROR. PULLED A VISUAL ON THIS ONE AND FOUND ITS SLIGHTLY CRACKED OPEN.PASSED EGR TEST AND POSITION VOLTAGE BELOW 1.2 VOLTS. THIS VALVES A FRESH ONE TOO.WTF??? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif -

i had one with a leak. pressure tested the oil cooler found it blown. checked cooling system was building or 18 psi. seems rare on the 4.5 from what im hearing

I HAVE TO AGREE TO A POINT. MY FIRST WAS A 2004 F450 TOWTRUCK THAT THE THERMOSTAT SEIZED CLOSED AND OVERHEATED THE BALLS OFF THE ENGINE. 2,000 MILES LATER IT WAS PUKING COOLANT FROM THE RESOVIOR AND THE UPPER HOSE WAS A FRIGGEN LOG. EVER SINCE THAT JOB I ALWAYS ROADTEST WITH THE PRESSURE TESTER AND BLOCK FLUID TESTER IN RESOVIOR. ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAVE DAMAGE TO THE GASKETS JUST IN DIFFERENT DEGREES DEPENDING ON THE LENGTH OF OVERHEAT. TAKE COMMAND OF EGR TO ZERO AND CRANK UP THE RPM TO 1200 WITH VGT TO 85 PERCENT, YOU'LL SEE THE BLOCK FLUID TESTER CHANGE COLOR FAST. BUT EVERY ONE, FOR GODS SAKE PULL THE CAB. WHO NEEDS ANOTHER CRY BABY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SHOP TRYING TO PULL HEADS WITH THE CAB ON. HEY TONY, IS THAT A MOTEL NEXT DOOR TO YOU???

WELL TO ANSWER THE "WILL IT REGEN WHEN DAMAGED QUESTION" THIS MORNING TRUCK WENT INTO REGEN FOR 30 MINUTES AUTOMATICALLY, EVEN WITH THE DAMAGED DPF.ACTUALLY CLEANED UP THE EXAUST SMELL PRETTY WELL. I REMEMBER NOW ABOUT 1 MONTH BEFORE THE DPF WAS LETTING SOOT OUT THE EXAUST HAD A REAL PUNGENT SMELL TO IT. KIND OF LIKE A NEWER CAT ENGINE EXAUST SMELL. A SHARP VERY NOTICABLE SMELL. -

i give us a round about 8,except for that sawed off runt of a parts guy we have. i dont know about you guys but why are parts guys so dam nasty? and cant handle more than 1 thing at a time. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boxing.gif we locked our guy in the bathroom with a F550 bumper against it.

EXACTLY WHATS HAPPENING IN THIS SITUATION. INITIAL ACCELERATION BLACK "POWDERY"CONSISTANCY. CLEARS WITHIN FEW SECONDS,NO PERFORMANCE CONCERNS,PASED ALL TESTS ON IDS,ETC. STILL WAITING FOR DPF TO ARRIVE, POSSIBLY BY 30TH OF THIS MONTH. -
WELL WE HAVE BEEN REMOVING THE COOLING MODULE ASY, NOT NECESSARILY EASIER BUT ELIMINATES THE OH NO FACTOR WHILE TRYING TO FIGHT THE CONDENSER OUT.

HEY ROCK HAD SAME ISSUE. TRUCK WAS NEWSPAPER DELIVERY E450, PURCHASED AS A REGULAR CUTAWAY INSTEAD OF THE DEALER ORDERING THE PASSENGER SEAT DELETE OPTION. TRUCK BLASTED IN ACCIDENT AND BODYSHOP REPAIRED. I ORDERED THE EXACT SAME RESISTER,PLUGGED IN FINE BUT RESISTANCE STILL OFF AND KEPT LAMP ILLUMINATED. ONLY WAY TO OVERCOME IS BOLT A PRETENSIONER TO TRUCK BODY OR HAVE THE CUSTOMER FILL OUT THE PASSENGER DELETE FORM WITH THE NAT HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION BOARD AND FORD WILL CONTACT YOU WITH A PARTNUMBER OF A MODULE THAT IGNORES THE PASSENGER PRETETIONER. BEEN DOWN THAT ROAD WITH THAT FRIGGEN RESISTER. CUSTOMER WANTED TO BUY AND HAVE MOUNTED A PRETENTIONER. WHOLE ISSUE WAS CRASH EVENT DTC AND MODULE INSTALLED HAD NO PART NUMBER FROM FORD??? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/puke.gif
