You hit it right in the head Greg, 126 through the roof. Trying every attempt to drop it but feels like a one legged relay race. Exactly what do you suggest as "salvageable" repairs? Every failure seems to be combination of long and short block replacements. You guys feel these 6.0's can actually be repaired without short block replacements? say crankshaft or piston or camshaft damage from lifter failure. Better yet survive. I appreciate your help guys!

Just a question, how many of you guys are replacing failed components ( pistons, cranks, etc) verse short block or long block 6.0/6.4 replacements?

hey Mb, sometimes the ambulance manufacturers use their own relay in the module. what brand of ambulance is it?

Think your right Bruce. Had a HPOP start to leak pressure at certain spots in its shaft rotation when warm. Mine threw the 1212 on heavy accel onto an on ramp to highway. Did remember warming engine to operating temp, disabling idm relay and watching icp while cranking. Had the icp go from 200 to about 800 or so. Ended up being HPP and never gave me a hard start complaint.

ahh, brings back memories! something about how long the tech was pulling exploded plastic out of the engine cover after an either explosion. Hey MB, had a 7.3 about 8 years ago that had a cracked intake valve spring. Same senerio. Blew the intake bafold up in pieces. That one definitely didn't have any either used in it.

Anybody try using IDS with windows 7 yet???
OHNO60 replied to eastendpowerstroke's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
its all right as long as you dont get the blue screen of death, young testman. -
Tell you what, noticed they turned up the firewall on that ACES filter. Seem to be chucking a hell of allot more valid operations.

I don't know what's in the sauce, but had 2008 E450 come in for transmission service(LV) last week and back on hook today with planetary failure. Major KABOOM.

Tornado Intercept Vehicle

Need that thing when the Dec 126 comes out! -
Guess the giant hole in the IPR doesn't mean anything anymore, not that they have a replacement screen. What's your R's per 1000 on the 126 going to look like when you replace the screen and then kaboom?

Keith,My truck basically takes the bite off the cold air slightly within about 2-5 minutes of start up. Seems to help more with the windshield defrosting than hand warming.

Good thing he doesn't need a cat converter. Try telling him he has to wait 3 months.

Hey since ford broke away from the low icp TSB Have any of you guys see the broken down high pressure system SLTS'S for the 6.0 diesels? Lists air pressure test and under valve cover test. Aren't these the same tests? Obviously know about the air pressure test, but what's the deal with the under valve cover test? Emailed SLTS and all i got back was what's the engine size.... Thanks in advance guys!

THINK MTBELTANDHERECOMESTHEAUDIT- 14.0 WILL DO IT

zog, had same extended cold crank issue on 06 E450 last week. Checked everything, icp, ipr icpv, glow plugs system all within spec, fuel pressure too in spec, swapped ficm with known good, basically all good. Believe it customer stated he would bring it back when it got worse. Well month later came in on the hook for crank no start. Performed diag and ended up being a failed drivres side dummy plug. Replaced both dummy plugs and at same time repaired the extended crank problem. All the readings were all correct and truck didn't have any issues starting after hot engine shutdown soak. Dam dummy plugs caused the extended crank when cold the whole time and didn't even show any of the usual hot restart issues.

Bet that oasis is top secret! couldn't imagine that engine had any repairs.

by the way any of you guys replace an engine harness on a 2005 to 2008 econoline? what times did you get for the job? think i got yanked.
-
the saying " s@It runs down hill" makes allot more sense now. What are some of you guys hitting in diesel engine and drivability on your 126's now that their slapping?
-
AWWW MAN! imagine a world without any more LCF's. Priceless.....

Did them both ways. Actually faster and safer to assemble heads in truck. Engines lighter and less cumbersome. Sounds familiar Keith, had a 7.3 chain snap and the engine actually fall and hit the fender. Not a good day.

Our condolences Larry.

6L leaking oil sending units
OHNO60 replied to walleyewarrior's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
This is an 07 E350, and loves to eat engine oil pressure senders. This guy had 4 senders and last one lasted 2 miles. They just leak like sieve at the electrical connector and fails. Hotline said replace the sender and fill connector with die-electric. After that wham, sender failed. Checked engine oil pressure and found 60 psi at idle, 80 at wot. Doesn't make any sense. You guys have any ideas? North American Diesel states that there's no record of multiple failures. -
6L leaking oil sending units
OHNO60 replied to walleyewarrior's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
hey Rock, how high was your oil pressure? Have one now with 3 failed in past few months. -
Sounds like there loading their warranty guns for the "New Diesel". Basically flexing their muscles and stating their not accepting any B.S!
-
Believe it or not, nothing found yet. The damage to the Gerotor pump looks like small allot of dimples. Not at all like the damage a cam roller makes. This truck never had a warranty claim, so not sure injector pieces are the culprit. Pulled the oil filter and unrolled, clean. What ever it is that failed its like Prego- It's in there.
