yup i regulated the air to 60 psi. Gotta tell you, been times i thought of hooking up our nitrogen tank and give it a little more kick.

YOU DONT REALLY NEED AN ADAPTER TO SEAL THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. YOUR LOOKING FOR ANY BUBBLES OR LEVEL MOVEMENT IN THE THERMOSTAT CAVITY WHEN THE FUEL SIDE IS PRESSURIZED AND REALLY DO NOT WANT ANY TYPE OF INTERFERENCE. I ALSWYS LOOK AT TRYING TO KEEP THE ENGINE TOGETHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE DURING DIAG BECAUSE ONCE YOU GET IN THERE TOO DEEP " YOUR COMMITTED" AND MAY NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO GET MORE DIAG IN WITHOUT REASSEMBLY.BY TODAYS EVENTS BETTER HAVE ENOUGH TESTING DONE OR YOUR POCKETS (ASS) ON THE LINE. IF YOU DONT FIND ANYTHING YOU CAN ALWAYS REMOVE ALL INJECTORS AND PRESSUREIZE THE COOLING SYSTEM " LIGHTLY" LOOKING IN INJECTOR BORES WITH BOROSCOPE. ONE THING YOU HAVE TO CALL IS HOW ARE YOUR DIAG METHODS WORKING FOR YOU ON THIS ENGINES PROBLEM. I LEAVE ABOUT 1-1.5 HOURS THEN IF NO GO STEP BACK AND LOOK AT THE WHOLE PICTURE. REALIZE YOUR PULLING THE ENGINE IF ITS THE HEADS ON AN ECONOLINE. MAY BE WORTH THE CALL TO JUST PULL THE ENGINE AND DO BOTH HEADS. OH KEITHS METHOD OF LIQUID TIDE WORKS GREAT! AND HES RIGHT "SNUGGLY FRESH".

Thanks Keith! yup actually works. Depending on the size of the injector cup crack might have to keep the air pressure you use on for as much as 30 minutes.Another help is when you remove the thermostat keep the coolant level even to the top of the thermostat mounting. Some small leaks just move the level.

TRY REMOVING THE FUEL LINES FROM THE FILTER SIDE OF THE SECONDARY FUEL FILTER, REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND PRESSURIZE EACH SIDE ONE AT A TIME WHILE LOOKING FOR BUBBLES IN THE THERMOSTAT CAVITY. SHOULD HELP IN AT LEAST LOCATING WHICH SIDE IS FAILED. CAN ALSO PRESSUREIZE THE DEGAS BOTTLE WITH THE FUEL LINES OFF THE SECONDARY HOUSING AND LOOK FOR THE FUEL LEVEL TO MOVE IN THE LINES. IF ALL ELSE FAILS REPLACE BOTH HEADS.

08 e-450 abs and trans shifting problem
OHNO60 replied to Steve Mutter's topic in Body, Chassis and Electrical
had same issue with 08 e450! ended up being a bum pcm. mine was sending the iss and oss all wackey. replaced the pcm worked great from that point on! -
NOPE WE HAVE THE SAME ONE BRUCE. ACTUALLY SMALLER THAN THE FORD BADGED IPR. I ORDERED IT AND WAS EXCITED TO ONLY GET DISAPPOINTED. AN OLD IPR THAT ONE OF THE GUYS WELDED THE HOLES CLOSED WORKS BETTER.

HAHAHAHA, like that one Keith! sould call that one " the last resort" procedure.

hey kelly whats the ipr and icp doing when the surge is happening? Had an issue one time that the hp stc connector wasn't blown off, but was a "loose" fit. I disassembled the engine and when found this cranked the engine and actually watched this bastard leak with a heat gun on it. PS, DIDNT MENTION YOU'LL WANT TO TAKE A NEW TURBOCHARGER OIL FEED LINE AND PLUG IT SO YOU DONT HAVE A REAL FRIGGEN MESS.

I dont want to sway away from the FQR, but we had similar issue with a Jasper reman. came in with nice shiney "dyno tested by Kevin" label on it. Cant under stand how the hell this guy dyno'd the engine but rebuiler forgot cylinder 8 connecting rod and piston. Technician installed the engine and just that quick it came out. Guess good old quality control going to sh!@ with our country.

Had an interesting conversation with an engineer about these hp oil leaks recently occuring. We had a leaker that well to say it sounded like it was leaking out of every friggen oring. Hotline stated retesting the hp oil system without cranking the engine to regain pressure is giving dalse readings. He sayd once you find the main leak, disable the ficm and fuel pump and crank the engine until icp raises and ipr falls, then your good. He stating a large amount of false readings just re-running the air pressure testing without cranking the hp system. Never would of believed it, after thousands of these dam leakers, i have never seen so many multiple location leaks or stubborn leaks.Maybe the cj4 rated oils finally killing the orings?

funny you mention it, had a no start ended up being hp connector, anyway when tearing town found the egr cooler clogged tighter than a clams ass in october.explained no extra labor just parts only replacement, rejected. They explained no symptoms present now. Tryed explaining the truck was towed in a crank no start and we were not sure how it ran, but it didn't matter. "eyes straight ahead, its not your check book"

Any of you guys ever see a good failure analysis book or guide for diesels?

Thats one plus for the prior approval process They give you the authorization code right there on paper. I take it your a level 1 dealer ? and one with a bad warranty administrator.

OHNO60 replied to DamageINC's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I with you on the engine harness! changed tons of them on ambulances, repaired them all. believe it was a 6c2z-12b637-UA. Had all those DTC"S too. -
well somebody has to keep the zip tie manufacturers in business, might as well be ford.
