Interesting, I'd like to see a Mexican export 6.4 too. Tell you what for all you F650 guys, i'd like to tie-wrap every friggen harness as tight as a crabs ass and give them a taste of harness "heaven".

well i own one. gotta say im quite used to the 3000 mile oil change now. Engineers had me change hp pump, same crap. overfills. i even stop it from regenning when idling. poor design thats what it boils down to. they need an injector after the turbo outlet just for regenning and stop the strategy of full engine injection. They know what the problem is. They dont want owners driving to michigan and shoosting up the joint.

well put it this way. You work for a professional distributor then. These guys here are huge and put $$$$$ in mother cats pocket. Why would they listen to me? Only thing they would do is call the distributor and piss off the local distributor more. Been proven before here. As a matter of fact i had to call peoria ill and complain that they wouldn't sell me a "customer" version of cat et. Peoria calls local distributor and well guess what a 350 dollar piece of software costs 1050.00 and no updates included. I was purchasing Cat parts through my local GMC/Volvo truck dealer .Well the threat to the dealer was you'll lose your teps priviliges for selling parts to a competing independent shop when they can come here and pay full price to us"cat distributor". F you Fo**Y Cat! Just a question. how can i buy cat et from your distributor and have it registered? is that possible? or will they bang me over the head with that famous Cat territory bull crap well enough of my crying. Thats why i believe cats on the way out. bad customer repour either in product being crap or warranty coverage issues.

FUNNY YOU SAID THAT KEITH! I DONT WANT TO MENTION THE CAT DISTRIBUTORS NAME BUT THEIR A BUNCH OF ASS*&%$@. THEY CHARGE ALL CUSTOMERS 10% OVER LIST PRICE AND CRY LIKE BABIES. HAD AN ECM THAT WE BOUGHT FROM THEM AND THEY HAD TO PROGRAM IT FOR US. SO THEIR CSR CALLS THE CUSTOMER UP BY GETTING THEIR ENGINE INFO AND ADDRESS/PHONE NUMBER INFO AND TELLS MY CUSTOMER THAT IM REPLACING AN ECM WITH OUT CAUSE. FRIGGEN BALLSY! I THINK YOUR SEEING LESS CAT WORK BECAUSE EVEN THE CUSTOMERS ARE TIRED OF THEIR SUPPORT AND BS. HAVE SEEN CUMMINS SHOWING UP LIKE MAD. SINCE WERE CUMMINS CERTIFIED I SEND THEM ADVERTISEMSNTS.

OHNO60 replied to Keith Browning's topic in Driveline: Transmissions, Clutches and Axles
KEITH FORGIVE ME FOR SOUNDING LIKE AN IDIOT BUT TRIED THAT FOR CUSTOMER WITH A CHEVY AWD VAN .ACTUALLY WOULD ROLL IN PARK. NOT SURE EXACTLY HOW BUT MIGHT BE SAME RESULT WITH THE FORD EXPLORER. MAYBE LIKE 4X4 TRANSFER CASE BEING PULLED INTO NEUTRAL. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif. -

IM LUCKY WE'RE A FULLY HOURLY SHOP. ONLY ISSUE STANDING FROM A MANAGEMENT POINT OF VIEW IS WELL IF A TECHNICIAN DOESN'T FEEL LIKE WORKING,HE/SHE WONT. THAT HURTS THE OVERALL COMPANY.ALSO LIKE MENTIONED OWNERS TODAY WITH THE ECONOMY SEEMING TO BE GOING TO SHIT ARE HESITANT TO OFFER ANY "INCENTIVE PAY" FOR AN HOURLY TECH TO MOVE HIS ASS. THERE SIMPLY HITTING THE PANIC BUTTON. WE NEED THE GODDAM FUEL COST TO GO DOWN SO PEOPLE GET OUT THERE IN THE SUMMER AND BREAK SHIT OR WE'LL DEAD.MY OPINION HAVING A DIESEL BACKROUND, DIESEL TECHNICIANS ARE THE MOST OVER LOOKED PERSONNEL BY PAY RATE.
-
BOY FORD LOVES YOU CANADIAN TECHS! THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO BE UP YOUR ASSES ABOUT SOME SHIT LIKE THAT. WHY SHOULD DATE CODING BE AN ISSUE? IF YOU NEED AN EGR VALVE AND YOU GO INTO EITHER PROQUEST OR CATALOG ADANTAGE IT NEVER ASKS FOR DATE CODE.JUST SPITS OUT ONE OF THE 2 PART NUMBERS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THAT. I DO KNOW DATE CODING MIGHT BE MORE CRITICLE DURING THE 04-05 PRODUCTION DATE CHANGES.AFTER THE 2005 THEY COME AS ALL THE SAME 5C2Z. I FEEL FOR YOU GUYS TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK OUT THERE!

GOT ME BY THE SHORT HAIRS! ONE THING I DID NOTICE WAS A HIGH EXAUST BACK PRESSURE READING AFTER I FIRST REPLACED THE SENSOR AND BEFORE THE DOC REPLACEMENT. POSSIBLE NOT ENOUGH FLOW + A CONCENTRATED HEAT SOURCE= HIGHER THAN NORMAL TEMPS AND UNFORTUNATE SMELTING ACCIDENT FOR THE EBP. PCM IN MY EYES NOT PICKING UP ON IT BECAUSE THE TEMP SENSORS AFTER THE EGR COOLER AND WHEN ITS WORKING DROPS THE TEMP.TELL YOU WHAT IT WORKED.MAYBE MR BRUCE KNOWS WHY OR AN INTERNATIONAL FACTORY REP THAT KNOWS.

MOST OF MY ISSUES WERE WITH THE USB CONNECTION AND THE "BRIDGE" CONNECTION IDS SETS UP WHEN INSTALLING. SEEMS TO RESOLVE BY REINSTALLING THE SOFTWARE FOR IDS AND SHUTTING DOWN THE FIREWALL. ANOTHER THING I NOTICED IS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE LEAVE THE IDS ALL BY IT SELF ON A LAPTOP. DONT INSTALL ANYOTHER SOFTWARE IF POSSIBLE. ONCE HAD CAT ET AND IDS TOGETHER AND WELL CAT ET--->/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boxing.gif<---FORD IDS

YUP MY ISSUE WAS SOLVED BY REPLACING THE DOC PIPE BEHIND THE TURBO. ACCORDING TO HOTLINE HAD ISSUES WITH DOC FAILING AND HEATING THE EXAUST INTO THAT HORIZONTAL EGR COOLER AND BURNING THE EBP SENSOR. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/flamethrower.gif. BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR ABOUT MONTH OR SO WITHOUT ISSUES.

P1502 (APCM Functioning)
OHNO60 replied to Bruce Amacker's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
bruce been through this many times. The ambulance manufacturers use the pto wiring under the hood next to the booster for idle/charge controls. one of those wires is for pto enable and they apply ignition voltage to that wire so the pcm always thinks its in pto and waiting for the parking brake to complete the function. a temporary fix is to cut that wire and run the koer test and repair it when done or just add a relay to connect it for you wuth a trigger from the park wire located in the same area.i can send you a schematic i made tomorrow if you like. -
I actuaqlly never used that dam egr puller yet, hahaha. does anybody actually have good pictures on how to actually assemble this pos easy? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif

How much water was found? Yes ur right that quote is disturbing. Gota tell you, i had allot of 6.4 litre equipt trucks in with water in fuel message blazing in your face and the customer states in a joking manner "its been on for months" and never had a hp pump fail for water. i thought they were more durable than that. has to be more than that. did you get the hotline involved?
-
Hope this doesn't sound terrible, but did you check the engine oil and make sure its not over-filled? Had same issues and was crank slapping away deep in the engine oil. Would of never believed it. Second did you verify fuel pressure?
-
kinda like this -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crybaby2.gif all aside, i seen most of the issues were because of a poor write up. One great thing our service manager does is take pictures and file them with your warranty paper work. Pictures of engine serial numbers if your doing an engine. Pictures of an electrical console on the truck if its an ambulance, etc. Any supporting pictures that can help when mtime was added to a job. That saved my ass before for sure. They seen that documentation and left within 30 minutes. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

WELL PUT JIM! THATS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SHOULD DO. IT'S BAD ENOUGH THE TIME YOUR GETTING TO DO THE JOB IS TIGHT WITHOUT ACCOUNTING FOR ANY OFF BEAT OPERATIONS. SEND IT BACK TO PARTS. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif

SOUNDS LIKE THE WARRANTY CLERK'S A SCARDY CAT. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE HERE EITHER.ONLY THING I WAS TOLD IS IF YOU RUN OASIS AND A TSB "SPECIFICALLY" RECOGNISES THE CONCERN AND OR "PROCEDURE" YOU HAVE TO USE IT FOR THE CLAIM. GUESS THE PHRASE DAMED IF YOU DO, DAMED IF YOU DONT.

6.0L head jobs being done half fast
OHNO60 replied to DwayneGorniak's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
12 HOURS,SHEEET. SOME OF THESE GUYS FROM THE SOUTH BRONX WILL HAVE THE WHOLE DAM TRUCK IN PIECES AND SOLD IN 12 HOURS. ALL KIDDING ASIDE. TECHS LIKE THAT ARE WHAT CAUSE CUSTOMERS TO THINK DEALERS ARE MORONS AND THE PRODUCTS GARBAGE. AND HALF THE PROBLEM IS WARRANTY TIMES AND BUTCHERS. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif
