OMG, there is a huge construction company that has a good amount of 6.4L's. Some have the ticking noise some don't. The fleet manager wants them fixed. Why don't the other trucks do it. This guy is already fuming about the fact that 6.4's "make oil" in between oil changes and 3/4'' to 1 inch above full is normal. He was cursing the service writer over the phone because he couldnt believe Ford thinks that it's normal. Thank God i gave him the hotline request stating all that is normal to cover my ass /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/readthis.gif . I still have mixed feeling about this engine. Why in gods name couldnt they not just keep the 6.0L (cant believe i just said that)

6.4L Torque Adapter Kit
Tony302600 replied to Keith Browning's topic in Tools, Computers and the Internet
Oh Yea /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif -
It's because shady techs are just slapping a shitload of parts on trucks. We have one here, just doesnt understand diesels or something, the used car guy now. He asks us a million questions, we tell him there is a TSB for that exact concern sounds like the HP fitting is bad. He changes, the fitting, pump, ipr, and icp. People that don't care or just don't understand are ruining the warranty system and tehn Ford doesn't trust us and takes it out on all the dealers. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif I've seen it a million times when checking the OASIS, other dealers throwing 10-20 parts on a truck that still doesn't fix it. End's up in our hand's turning out to be a simple repair.

Well, im the lucky guy that aquired a 04 6.0, 114,000miles /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gifCP, ambulance with a int. no start / stall. 4,000miles ago other tech couldnt verify it. Codes now: p0336 CKP ckt, p0401, p0404, p0470, p0528, p0679 (#8 glow plug), p1335, p2284 (icp performance), p2614, p2617 ( i know we those codes), u0105 (lost communication with FICM). Now being this is a ambulance and the other tech had it for a week unable to verify it, it got towed in yesterday no start, i start it up this morning fine, and get these codes. I'm leaning torwards a engine harness for sure, and im thinking that the harness is failing causing all these codes, but ive never seen the ICP performance code with a harness problem. This is my list since its a ambulance, Customer Pay, and i can't risk it coming back. Engine Harness CKP and CMP sensors EGR valve (failed) #8 glow Plug ( failed ) ICP sensor (slightly erratic) and thats it. What do you guys think? On edit this was towed from their shop that does all their work because they couldn't figure it out.

maybe a updated jumper will come in the works. I love the 6.0L now. LoL. -
I don't think the econoline is that bad. I think this whole engine is just dumb. If cummins and duramax could make their engines pass emission's then why the hell couldn't the 7.3 or even the 6.0L. This is a disaster. Gotta pray to get a good one. How on earth could you make the cab-off procedure dumber/harder then the 6.0? It's just not good business practice. I also heard that a lot of Ford/international engineer's went to duramax.

If you or mark get tickets let me know ahead of time. They are doing 2 shows in Chicago... 26th and 27th. As for their new song's....i'm kind of upset. Not as upset since st.anger, but still don't like it. I will see them live for sure.

i'm gonna avoid the shitoutta the next ticket that has "died while driving" as a line on a 6.4L This is getting dumb. Anybody see the new Frontline mag from Ford having them brag about how much better their truck is then dodge or sterling as a MD work truck? I just laughed after reading all this, then reading that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif -

Breaking stuff during repair..
Tony302600 replied to DamageINC's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
in a warranty action notice letter i read it stated. " many dealers are breaking the plastic heater hose. Solution: Don't break it. Follow WSM" LoL. Like we intentionally break them. I've been lucky and have fought for 5 minutes trying to get a passenger side valve cover off without breaking the tube. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/king.gif -
75W140 Synthetic vs 80W90

If you use amsoil or BG fluids you will NEVER have a problem /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hahaha.gif -
I will say that BG's power steerig fluid (which they claim has a lot more lubricity than mercon) actually works and get's rid of that dreaded P/S Groan/Moan. I've fixed quite a few with it.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif I have one right now that is overheating due to the radiator leaking causing low coolant. I hope this doesn't turn into having to check the front cover behind the waterpump if the cooling system get's low.
