  1. I'm with James, give the customer the option. 9 outta 10 times its up to the service manager. Take the burden off yourself. Tell them, this is my rec. but if you want to try this then ok we'll try it. If it work's, great, hopefully we won a customer. If it didn't then let the SM worry bout it. We're just the trained messengers.
  2. so r u going to put an engine in this one too on edit: BYE BYE LEVEL 1 DEALER STATUS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/popcorn.gif
  3. Why would you change the injector's? Diesel is a lubricant so i don't think it would have any adverse effect's on the injector's. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif
  4. My first case was the EGT13. Monitoring PIDS the sensor would go open, 4.65v /1800F degrees. The PCM and IC see's this and will put the message on saying "please pull to side of road immediatly." My 2nd case the EGT13 sensor read 1.08Kohm's and the degreee went off the charts, set the P242D but still cranked. With the sensor being at 1800F the instrument cluster will not let the engine crank, because the super hot exhaust temp. Here is a thing that bothered me. The engineer told me "some will crank, some will not crank." he said he has no clue why. So it is a safety feature. Mine both cranked.
  5. I personally have never seen a rear main seal leak on a 6.0. I see a shitload of leaking Hot side cac tubes that make it look like the rear main is leaking.
  6. Ditto, i did the reprogram when it first came out. There is an SSM to reprogram the PCM for the EGT codes. But, they never stated how this new reprogram affects the vehicle. So the Ford engineer explained exactly how it works. Now i know. I got lucky, and mine cranked right away.

  8. They are starting to bounce claims for HP pump replacement after seeing the IPR trashed even with a hotline request form printed to the R.O. stating "whenever there is debris in the IPR and hole, the IPR and Pump MUST BE REPLACED. I even higlighted and underlined it on the request form i printed out.

  10. I can't find bamboozled in dictionary.com LoL
  11. I know that was totally out of left field. He's just jealous LoL.
  12. Jeff i just read that literally 2 minutes ago, and i got sooo furious. The ford message boards is a breeding ground for retard's using Ford as a effigy. I have been helped a couple of times but other then that blah. I can't count how many post's there are on their from people asking for help when there are TSB's and known SSM's for their exact conerns. Keith, again, this site is the shit, the knowledgebase and post's from other people have better'd my attitude, and work ethic torward's this business. Plus, they have takin my diagnostic's to the proffesional level and has reduced comeback's. I love the daily challenege's. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
  13. Bruce that's amazing. We have 3 IDS kit's on with a toughbook, the other 2 with generic laptops. Somehow one of them get's f'd up and we never have all three running, one is always broken. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boxing.gif
  14. Well, the FSE for international told me that he gets majority of the Ford 6.0 stuff back to inspect. He was an very awesome cool guy, told me some funny stuff about how tech's have returned stuff. He said he has 2 huge bin's full of rear cover's busted from HP fitting failures. Now to be a warranty nazi. I think they just need to teach you how to use warranty nazi dice. They role the dice, 5 out of the 6 spot's say "Decline" and the one say's "approve" That's mainly only for the diesel guys. But now I think they have given them new dice where all say "decline" on all sides of the dice.
  15. yea we've been slower then normal. When there is only 2 outta 3 of us we're busy, when all three of us are here, we're slow.

  17. honestly, all that i've read is people just draining it, flushing everything out, and then just shipping the customer on the way with the Ford additive. I've read A LOT of post's of people doing just that. Quite honestly, im not going to charge the old guy who didnt notice that the green handle (which 99% of the time is diesel) was gasoline at this particular gas station. Mistakes happen. They say the exact same thing about the 6.0L. Saying it will mess up all the injector's blah blah blah, i've seen a good amount with gasoline in them on accident, one has 50K on it since the drain+refill and still not injector problems. On edit, i was in a class with an FSE who failed the advanced drivebility class. 6months later i saw him sitting in my manager's office saying he's the new FSE in the area. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif
  18. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif In my defense, we are only limited to 2 site's at work. FMCDEALER.com and this site (after fighting with the IT guy for 3 weeks that this is for Ford stuff.
  19. It's all the bad apples causing all the problems making them 2nd guess us. I've heard of warranty getting head's back with the gasket still on the head itself, who the hell does that. Thing's like that make them do this. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/2cents.gif
  20. I used mine on friday to diagnose a Bad FICM causing ckt codes. I didn't get the noid light operation til i put it on a known good one. When on KOEO, both light's were bright, at idle they were dim... maybe because it's not fully loaded. I'm sure if you revved it up then it would get brighter. when keyed up do you think they supply full voltage to the injectors during the keyed up cylcling?
  21. Don't forget to get prior approval for headgaskets!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/icon_crazy.gif
  22. Hence, the modern day konundrum ( however you spell it )
  23. I had to answer a call from an indy shop on where the EGR valve was on a 6.4L. This is how the conversation went Me: "Um, why are you changing a egr valve on the 6.4, A. it's under warranty, and B it's pressed in meaning you have to use the special tool to remove it." Indy "tech," "well i thought the EGR would be a quick fix." Me: "for what?" Indy "Tech," "it blow's white smoke on cold start-ups." Me: "(long silence)......alright, (then spent 10min trying to explain where the hell the sensor was, til i fianlly gave up.)"
  24. Don't you love that. Shitload of work done at another dealer, get's 20miles end's up at ure dealership, have to change the same part's over again, AND what really need's to be fixed, then the ticket get's flagged by the warranty nazi's ask.."why did u change this, the other dealer already did, we're not paying for this." then ure 126 goes through the roof.
