Hybrid Fed-ex E450 stripped chasis, stalls.
Tony302600 replied to Tony302600's topic in All Gasoline Engines
I dunno, but the "mother company" is in Canaydia, and the guy's i'm talking to are in NJ. They all have Kanuck accent's. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I've done so much probing and disconnecting, it's makin my head spin. I'm doing a couple more test's before the they are going to come out here and use their scan tool on it. It's funny because i can't check DATALOGGER with IDS, but I can with a cheapy $300 scan tool. -
Hybrid Fed-ex E450 stripped chasis, stalls.
Tony302600 replied to Tony302600's topic in All Gasoline Engines
Ford Roadside towed it to us because it broke down on it's way to california. I've been working with the engineer's from Azure for about 5 day's now trying to figure out why it stall's after 4minutes. We have it down to the vehicle is in limp mode because it detect's a fault in the throttle pedal (P2121) I cannot monitor pid's because they have 2 different ECU's that intercept everything before the Ford PCM. This is a true parallel hybrid with the biggest traction motor on the driveshaft i've seen, and biggest integrated starter/motor generator on the engine. I will take pictures tom. They are scratching their head's because it's a prototype and i can only check codes with IDS nothing else. They are located in New Jersey so that doesn't help. Nicest guy's i've ever chatted with and they told me exactly how this thing work's which is awesome to learn about. They have been thanking me for taking the time to check what they want me to check. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif I will take pictures tom. -
I honestly think that the statement from engineer's about "these engine's will produce some fuel," is a cop-out for "we have no idea What teh F*%K is going on." All deja-vu with the 6.0L goin in these things back in the day. Customer's complaining they want their 7.3's back. Now we have companie's with fleet's of 6.4's wishing they had their 6.0's back.

I can't count how many of them we've done. Only had one come back for repeat repair which was due to no info about certfied stock. As we speak I had another one come in rescheduled for friday, which also has degas bottle over flow /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif

Shot in the dark, but anyone from california ever work on Hybrid E-450 stripped chasis's from a company called Azure? The reason I ask is because these van's get shipped to california and we intercepted one that stalled on the rode, working with hybrid company because it stall's after 4 minutes, then wont crank. Can't monitor pid's nothing because they piggybacked all connector's to intercept them intotheir modules?

We have a 9lb dead blow mallot named "emma" we use, for the stubborn ones just loosin the lugs and go off-roading. Never failed. -
That makes me mad when they do that. They always try to get rid of shit on car's im working on, and I always argue with them that I want the updated part.

Cab removal on Goodyear service truck
Tony302600 replied to kellyf's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
That's what we have. I also teeter-totter them on 3 arm's. I can't believe how heavy of truck's we've lifted on these thing's and the motor's barely made a struggling sound. Only time they did was on a F-550 that we weighed at 16,700lbs. (CAT weight station by us.) -
The plugged egr cooler test?
Tony302600 replied to Mekanik's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
A. My dealership is 25minutes south of me. My buddy lives 15minutes north of me. I'm not going to make him drive 40minutes to get his truck worked on when he has a dealership 5minutes away from him. B. I know he doesn't get the best quality fuel, and that's why I told him to get the cetane booster to help. C. Our diesel is high and we're always busy. When we're slow i tell him i'll look at it here, but he's been taking it to the dealer by him for convenience. D. This is the only friend I have with problem's on his 6.0 under warranty. The others follow what i rec. to them Maintainence wise or are out of warranty. If i bring someone's truck in and a tech find's out, then someone say's something and then the manager is asking me a million questions. I was waiting for someone to ask me about this LoL. I'm not trying to bash this dealership, i remembered this post and just added to it. -

Reg cab's are a pain in the arse on our 18,000 2 post's in the truck shop. the arm's are twice the size of the car shop. Plenty of lifting, then rolling truck, then lifting, then rolling truck cuz they barely make it. -
Int. Stall p0087, p2291
Tony302600 replied to Tony302600's topic in 6.4L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Well, i put fuel filter's in it from thinking they might have gelled up a smidge. Replaced the filter's, drove the crap outta it, guy hasn't been back since. (it is getting warmer). Other diesel tech had the same thing, put fuel filter's in it, other truck hasn't been back since either. -
The plugged egr cooler test?
Tony302600 replied to Mekanik's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Well this test (removing egr valve and start truck to see if it run's) seems to be a valid test. (rolling eyes) My friend's truck was bucking and jerking like crazy when i was with him on a saturday after EGR and turbo replacement a week ago. He took it to the dealer by him (i was lucky enough to be present) their "honored" diesel tech looked at it. He brought us over, showed us the uncoked EGR valve in his hand, started the truck up without the egr valve in it, told us that since the truck is running without the egr valve in it, that the EGR cooler is plugged causing his concern. I asked him, isn't there a test to make sure the valve isn't bad, i heard that the valve's go bad, he said...no need for it since this test show's the problem. I had to bite my lip and act like a normal customer. The truck never idle's, never has had a coked up EGR valve, run's awesome fuel, does everything I tell him. We will see what happens. -

A Ford Engineer Threatening my Buddie's Warranty
Tony302600 replied to Tony302600's topic in The Water Cooler
He didn't catch his name because he was in awe at what happened. -
I got a call from my buddy and it went a little like this. "Hey, My truck is at (censored dealername) and a Ford engineer just yelled at me like a little kid and tried to void my warranty because of the Bank's intercooler/top hat/exhaust on my truck. Me: "what?" Buddy: "the truck is chugged and surging ever since they put a turbo and EGR valve on the truck, smokes like crazy...It was at the dealer, i was showing the tech how much it smokes ever since their repair, and 2 guy's come walking over, looking under the hood, told me "sound's like you have a problem," saw the bank's stuff on their, took my VIN # down, saw that my truck was in a couple of recalls, and told me "looks like you've been at the dealer A LOT, probably because of you aftermarket intercooler and exhaust, you better take it off or I will void your warranty. I'm a engineer for Ford and I have the power to do that. We are here to help with another concern on a lincoln." in a very snotty manner." Me: (silence) So this is how some Ford engineer's treat customer's with just a banks INTERCOOLER and EXHAUST. No PCM mod's, nothing. The only other time his truck was in, was for the Tran's recall, 05s34, 05e15, and he had a high pitch squeel noise no dealer could figure out til I found the Y-pipe gasket was leaking. WHAT AN ASSHOLE. I've NEVER spoken to an engineer that was this big of an asshole. Thanks for letting me Vent!!!

Is it just me or do you guy's deal with ambulance companies that want you to check the rig out for all their complaint's, only to decline thing's that aren't under warranty. We are dealing with that right now. One ambulance company we took in give's us a bitch list of concern's andthen whatever is not covered they don't want done. Right now I have one in the shop that the driver is complaining of brake noise, rear end growling, lack's power, noise behind doghouse, etc etc etc. I need's brakes badly, an alignment, catalytic converter ( noise ) fuel filters, and a bunch of other thing's. The driver tell's me that they have a "mechanic" but they don't want him to do thing's that will cost them money. They've needed brakes on this particular rig the past 3 time's it's been in, and rear end bearing's. I always hear and read about ambulance companies never buying anything or taking care of their rig's. Anyone else?

What? I thought it was 2 clamps per backrest also /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/scratchhead.gif
