The truck got towed to our dealership. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif. Keith, this is actually why i dont want anyone from that dealership on this site because i know how they work, i went to class with one of their guys and i was disgusted. I still can't believe it. I should of gone their personally and just laughed when they repeated to me what they told him. That wouldnt be a good sceonario because I would jsut snap cause ignorance gets to me. Another story long time ago, my aunt and uncle have a 99 explorer owned brand new, VERY VERY well maintained ( i do all the work /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif ). They were driving down the road and amoke started coming from under the hood, my uncle pulled over and lifted the hood, there was a fire under the hood. My uncle had a fire extinguisher and put it out. Towed it to the dealer, it had 34K on it, and they were told that a fuel line popped off and sprayed fuel on the coil. That dealer said they cant warranty it. My cousin ( their son ) is a Engineer for Ford. He called so many high up people, then called the dealer, flipped out on them, high ranking Ford Personal Relations people called them yelling at the SM and DP. Needless to say, they gave them $2,000 for the next purchase of a Ford, they paid for any inconveniences of that day, the rental, and Ford paid for a Dinner for 2 at a place of their choice.

I get a call from my buddies dad saying that his 04 F-250's right rear axle just shot out of his rear end on a turn and all bolts are sheared off at the hub. This is a 25,000mile truck, still under factory warranty ( in service date is 4/15/06 ), 5.4L 4x4, doesnt tow anything, just uses it for carprentry. I said go to the local Ford dealer because im 20miles away and its under base warranty, also told him to get his left front wheel bearing replaced because it has excessive play and noisy. 3hours later I get a call and this is what he said, "The dealership i'm at said they wont warranty the axle" I asked why the hell wont they he says "Because they think i beat on the truck or tow too much, i told them i dont tow anything, then the service writer told me that it from doing burnouts, i told them you cant do burnouts in a 5.4L superduty, so he then tells me its because i go from reverse to forward too much and that kind of wear is not covered under factory warranty." There was a long pause on my end because i cant believe what i just heard. I then asked about the wheel bearing he told me " the service writer said they wont warranty that because i off-road too much." At this point im fuming because this is my best friends dad who i talked into buying a Ford truck over his beloved chevy's, who has never done anything wrong to thsi truck except drive it. He was at the #1 Ford Truck dealer in IL so i thought he would be taken care of. Can anyone else believe this? Makes you wonder what other dealers are telling people around the country. I have many more stories of what dealers have told my customers and its out of hand. The dealer is Freeway Ford in IL BTW.

Thank God they came out with this. I like that Ford is starting have us do more things like this. I just hope they dont make us start rebuilding alternators and starters like in the old days, right Jim? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif (there you go, i finally highjacked a thread before Jim did) LoL. But on a serious note, i like this TSB much better, and it will be throwing some dough back in our pockets. * And dont forget to put a little anti-seize on both sections like Keith said to do. Awesome IDEA!!!!*

Its MT - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shrug.gif I was looking at freeze frame data and the code itself, and thought what if they just lengthened the threshold so it doesnt set so quickly. Everytime you see the 196 it was set in 10minutes, so why not lengthen it. I've had a 6.4 sitting outside in the cold and it took an ungodly amount of time to warm up, engineer told me thats normal that they take so long, maybe thats just the trucks im seeing.

Update, i was talking to hotline today about another 6.4L problem then i asked about the p0128, p0196 fix yet. "there is no fix yet, they are beating their heads against the wall trying to fix this problem" I have one angry 1700mile SD owner on my hands to deal with because of this problem.
-
Im going to tell you what the hotline guys told...every single one said 10degrees difference is questionable 15 requires replacement. 25 is both totally gone.

Dave, if you have a fuel quality issue it would affect both banks, With fuel quality i've found random misfires. Also when i have codes for right bank injectors usually more than one, 100% of the time when i get it running my fuel pressure gauge will fluctuate from 45-25 rapidly indicated combustion gases in the system. Bruce, Ford does not pay just to through 4injectors in and ship it. They want to know WHY they failed or what was the root cause. I've had injectors just fail, with awesome fuel pressure after the repair. Documented it and never heard anything from the nazi's. I do know that low fuel pressure will show at the right bank first. Thats from Ford and the international engineer i know. And dont forget you CANNOT go off of fuel color due to the face that Ford said so. Appropriate cetane could be berry blue in color if the supplier wanted it to be. BTW i have fixed a lot of drivebility issues with just fuel filters nothing else.....especially lack of power on e-series -
I was one of the lucky ones that snagged the part # for just the EGR connector ( which is not a valid fix according to Ford and that SSM lasted 2 days before it got pulled ) i'll get it from parts later..

Chris we didnt sell it, build date was in june, sold date was in june, and we got it last week with only 66miles on it. My manager had to call the warranty nazi's and they said they cannot make that customer pay. BTW the customer was royally pissed he didnt get an engine. The cab was in the air ater the outfitting company told us go ahead, but the owner said MY TRUCK MY DECISION, push it outside im coming to get it, and i told him i cant because its all taken apart.

I used hotline request on a truck that had the IPR screen pushed back and a little peice of black plastic was stuck inside. They told me anytime the IPR screen is broken that you MUST check the resevoir screen in the oil cooler resevoir. Clean out the resevoir and check for debris. Everyone that had a IPR screen broken had the resevoir screen broken. Then told tp replace pump, IPR, resevoir screen. When the IPR screen is stuck in the pump, then just dig it out is what they said. "It happens" -
So on this site we have Dwayne, the diesel gynochologist, Jim the Diesel Psychiatrist, and Keith the Ford Doctor. I think we have enough here to open up a office. And Larry the pharmacist, since he has excellent experience in Parts. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif ( jim talking to a diesel truck ) Jim: And how did that make you feel when your owner put that nasty fuel in your tank Powerstroke truck: It made me not want to work anymore and mad Jim: hmmm...lets work on that emotion.

jim, i noticed you highjacked your thread 3 times... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif

Keith me too, I had one injector letting combustion gases in, but showed misfire on 1,3,5,7 truck barely running. -
Jim i had a 10,000mile 94 cobra light up as i was working on... I cleaned some oil residue off with brake clean after doing an oil change, then cleaned off some other dirty stuff i saw...some brake clean got on the battery and i went to hook up the coolant machine for a coolant flush, a spark hit when i hooked up with positive cable and "whooooosh" next thing i know the cobra engine bay is in flames, and anything that had brake clean on it. 5 seconds and 2 fire extinguishers later ( however u spell it ) it was out with barely any damage done to it. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banghead.gif I got called the "flamer" for about a month.

6.0 egr cooler bypass kit
Tony302600 replied to jbarnett31's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Jim, the reason i like banks is because like he said, Gale doesnt like messing with emissions stuff. Now Jim, I want to do the EGR block off because of the gas mileage increase on my buddies truck. So blocking off the EGR to cooler inlet and a mileage tune to get my buddies truck to 27-28MPG is bad. His truck does not blow black smoke, he mainly leaves it on level 3 the highest fuel mileage setting, and it runs better, stronger, with no notice in tailpipe smoke. I think of it as conserving with no increase in emmision. Jim, Banks has a 7sec 1/4mile diesel that does not blow any black smoke.... THAT IS IMPRESSIVE. Here it is.... not no smoke on the launch -
Bruce, I dont know anymore...LoL...its a lost battle in the Ford Diesel world..you call hotline one guys says "to-may-to" ...the other says..no way its "to-mah-to." Then you call back and the third guy says " what the heck are those 2 talking bout...its "Po-tay-to."" then warranty gets a hold of it and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/readthis.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hitthefan.gif.... And Bruce i was talking about when they blow through the cover...not all the time

I have "my spots" on 6.0L's that im comfortable with.
