We've been down that road, i told her....5 clicks and you're good. When i pulled into the service lane, a service writer that used to pick on me was writing me up. LoL. I gave him a hard time as a joke. What time are you going to the parkway show? ME and mark are leaving my place at 630 -
Well, i have fallen victim to repeat repairs on my 04 explorer. I brought it in at 56,000 to have the rearend fixed for the whine noise, balljoints, etc etc. It was awesome for a while, 2,000miles later, the rear end starts whining again. I make a call, get it in again. Get it back monday, havent driven the car over 50mph til today...get on the highway, and holy jesus, the rearend gets louder and louder and louder the more i drive 55-70. Only 20miles on the car since the last repair. I'm not at all bashing, or talking shit, i just want to get this off my chest and hopefully someone that works there goes on here and will intervene. The thing that REALLY REALLY REALLY pissed me off is the 2nd time i get the car back, my gas gauge was WAAAYYYY below Empty. That is the one thing that irks me the most. But i was having a bad day and didnt wanna go back and explode. P.S. My fiance's Dodge nitro is at the dealer right now for the 4th time with a evap leak. LoL. what is this world coming to.

the suspense is killing me. I wanna see if the engine looks like a escort engine without all the massivness from the emissions stuff. LoL. -
But now you dont ever have to worry about that Dave L....hows the new job outside the concentration camp of a dealership?

Corporations are penny stupid and dollar smart as im finding out in my new industry. Case in point (and im not going to bite the hand that feeds me), the union maintainence engineers for the major hotel chains have us fix their kitchen equipment. They are SUPPOST to hire onion companies but they are so sick of being charged for guesswork(a whole nother topic). We constantly, constantly constantly tell them how to maintain the $40,000 equipment, so they wouldnt call us every week. We tell people all the way up to the top because we dont want to look like we dunno what to do. We wanted to give them $1,000 filter machine to save their $40,000 steamer....they opted for brand new steamers at $80,000 a set. I'll be fixing that in 6months again for the same issue. It's a huge circle of stupidity. And the guy's that we know say everyday....their corporations are penny dumb but dollar smart. P.S. (in the backround i always hear them saying "its not my job to do that, call someone else to do it."

Jim, what is your opinion on this. I really like hearing your insight. I'm still not sure about all this bailout.

OMG that picture is funny. -
I did it start of january and I DO NOT regret it. I could never go back ever since working the way I am now with a lot less stress and a lot more control over how much I make. Good Luck out there.

I have a friend thats a firefighter paramedic...they have one international and one 6.4L F-450. They had the international shut off on the them and brake more then the 450. Of Course the 450 broke down on them...and a certain dealership close to chicago tried ripping them off just like they ripped off every single one of our customers. So i got to talk to the cheif about why they were getting a bill when it was under warranty.... needless to say...they will not be going to that dealer anymore...like everyone else i know that went there. I think the V-10 is a great addition. How will that engine do with all the excessive idling? You think those plugs will last?

THis thing is awesome.....FINALLY FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! theres a reason Ford isn't askin for bailout money...

Yea, be careful what you put on the truck. Head stud's generally i'd rec. on ALL 6.0's having the head gasket issue. When we were wicked slow, we did head gasket jobs for guy's who got kicked outta other dealer's because they had an exhaust or intake....asshole dealers...but work for us. They got the head stud's and head gaskets. The last truck I did before I left the guy wanted me to add. Headstuds, egr valve delete, egr cooler delete, bigger turbo from Elite diesel, bigger fuel system, and ported injectors. I was all done and so excited to drive it...but the new turbo from elite diesel had bearings that were blown. I never heard a turbo make the noises it did. A shame because the guy called me 2 weeks ago saying the truck was finally done. I did the job in october. He also had train horns that scared the shit outta me.
-
I hope you're asking the guy if he want's head studs.
-
Wow, i feel bad for you guys. Just when i thought these engines were making headway, this comes out.

Stupid, stupid rookie question.

Guy's watch out for the dummy plug's causing a Lack of power ONLY WHEN the truck is towing a big load, or overloaded. I know a lot of guy's that don't use the ICPDES P.I.D., that's helped me out a lot. I had a 06 F-550 that only lacked power when fully loaded, found both front dummy plug's "on their way" to failing. It started fine hot, cold everything. At W.O.T. fully loaded ICP DES was at 3500 and ICP very slowly declining. -
My uncle has a 04 F150 that needs a tuneup done. I told him to have his son, (the ford engineer) do it because he was the powertrain engineer for the F-150, 5.4L 3valve. He didn't like that answer.

Only on cold startups but they went away.

Can you hear it the most on the High Pressure Pump Cover? or by the valve covers? Depending on the size of the HP leak, when you command the IPR you should hear a slight audible pith change. On E-series, i've had WAY MORE IPR's with holes in them causing low ICP then actual leaks. Don't forget if you arent using IDS and are hooking up the IPR to the battery, not to leave it hooked up for longer then 2minutes otherwise you will damage it. And no question is stupid unless it's one that's never asked. -
Why is that a bad thing....should take half the time to take out. LoL. Man that sux.
