Same as a 6.0 bed plate. I've been told they can be done motor in chassis. I don't have the patience, dexterity, or small size to work on shit in an engine compartment when I can yank the motor easy.
Whatever you do, use credible sources for your information.
Shop manuals, ford training, other experienced techs, this site, etc.
YouTube, Internet forums, powerstrokehelp.com, inexperienced technicians, etc, are not places to learn about the 6.0.
#1 was replaced in January?
I have a friend that had some debris in two or three injectors in a row between December and February. Call hotline and mention this, I believe it was hotline that told him about this. There was little bits of metal in the inlet port. (FoMoCo parts)
Missing all the time, cold, or under load?
Compression in the rail at all?
Good maintenance history? Possible shitty fuel previously?
How quick did it eat the #1 injector? It's a 550, how many hours are on it?
I often wonder if these engines are run on alternate fuels instead of diesel. Like natural gas through the intake deal.
That being said though the ambulance I just did had red fuel in the engine when it showed up.
I didn't know you were in CA.
Isn't there something on the truck body builder advisory service about this?
I will have a peek next time I am at a PC. The big trucks with a timer are the worst especially when it's cold. You spend 25 minutes dinking around getting it started and it only runs for 3 minutes. Sweet.
I have had them tested as well, when I lived in Windsor. Chatham Fuel Injection was able to do it.
Our local guy Roy's Diesel doesn't have the machine to do the 6.0 injectors though. I believe it's a G2 tester, and there was a thread on here about it awhile back.
