o5 Primary belt tensioner concerns

I would check the A/C system to see if the compressor is binding up? Seems like your issues started after the compressor was replaced? -
My new cable ISP. This is on wireless. Need t connect the ethernet cable and see if it's any different.

Those have 2 connectors for the injector to VC gasket. I'm betting one is cooked. Make damn sure you check for shorted glow plugs BEFORE putting any new parts on if the connectors are cooked...don't ask me how I know...

Had a 3.0L Ranger that had a salavge yard engine installed. Ran dead rich at part throttle but all scanner info said the PCM was maxed-out trying to lean it out. Fuel pressure & regulator OK, exhaust not plugged...turns out it was a Flex Fuel vehicle which uses diferent injectors. Guy finally came up with correct injectors and all was perfect again. If yours has a constant misfire on one bank, with spaark, it has to be fuel delivery issues. Either the PCM has gone whacky, but that usually fuel fouls plugs, or as mentioned previously something has gone awry with cam senor signal?

Just a tip on Cat C-15 that might apply to others?

One of the C-15's in the PowerPack threw the flywheel off over the weekend...800 feet from the bottom of the 7000' hole...these engines where installed long before I was hired. First time they were started I mentioned the one being so noisy and that it sounded like the flywheel was loose. Just got dumb stares from the engineers that built it... Now the lead engineer is trying to figure-out a way to replace the crank in the field...he tried to get a guy to weld the flywheel on...having a Masters degree doesn't make you smart huh? Fortunately for me I quit the day before the thing came apart. Realized I was in the wrong place and got out-of-dodge before the shootin started... -
What do you guys use for "general" flushing of a high mileage engine. My personal vehicle is a 99 S-10 4.3 with 170K miles. Radiator popped about three months ago. Replaced and refilled with some kind of pre-mixed "one-size-fits-all" coolant. It has had an occasional anti-freeze oder for several years that I associated with a seeping/plugged heater core. This was a Dexcool vehicle...had to swap the heater hoses a couple times a years to get heat. Finally bit-the-bullet and replaced the heater core yesterday. It was seeping at lower corner. Was shocked at the condition of coolant/cap/radiator considering it is only three months old. Nasty looking crap...smells like blowed-up Chevrolet to me. So...would like to know if anyone has found anything I can dump in the rediator while still running anti-feeeze that will help loosen up any crap in the system. Don't currently have anywhere to flush it but would like to soon...I suppose it's probably gonna be a dump the coolant, fill with water, run, dump & refill half-dozen times with some magic flush? Trying to keep from clogging the new heater core. Suppose I can just disconnect it during the flushing?

This is an air compressor used for drilling into coal to de-gas the formation. The most common builders are IR & Sullair. This one was built in-house...the drillers call the two "home-grown" compressors No-air & Less-air... -
Have one on an air-compressor that had mucho blow-by from the "road-draft-tube"...they got it so hot it quit and wouldn't start so we figured it was a good time to do an overhaul. Pulled it down to find a badly cracked head as expected but no apparent reason for the blow-by? Rings were well within spec for end gap, wasn't dusted, pistons looked great...hmmmmm? So we replaced head, rings, liners (some looked suspiciously like it has had water in the cyls & had rusted), rod bearings & oil pump. Fired it up and when under load, still had mucho blow-by...or was it actually "blow-by"? Shop foreman thought it could be the turbo seal allowing boost to pressurize the crankcase through the turbo drain tube...I wasn't convinced and felt it was more likely worn ring grooves even though I had cleaned & inspected them (upper portion, ring land area of piston, is steel). Replaced turbo and surprisngly "blow-by" is gone. Who woulda thunk it?

At what point does the EPA/CARB legislation/regulation make the internal combustion engine (ICE) not feasible? Exactly how "clean" can we afford to be when there is no technology to replace the ICE? -

Ok...after much searching & reading on the net it seems the PSOM is the same for all vehicles that used it from 92-96. So I can likely scrounge a cluster from a junkyard and program it to suit the tire size.

Need a part number for the Speedo/Odo board if available. I have it apart and found a burnt gizmo on the board but no idea what it is for sure. It's burnt so bad can't tell what color it was or what color any stripes or ID marks are... I signed up to Partsvoice and tried to find it through them but none of the numbers off the PSOM work.

OK? It was down for me late last week, but came back up a couple days ago. While down it logged me out and made it so I had to log-in every visit. Just typed the address and got in OK. It doesn't really matter, just a place I spend 5 minutes seeing what they are whining about that day...

1997 f350 excessive crank at times

Check the oil pressure when cold. Bet you see it's slow to build due to a worn sump oil pump. They are easy to change/inspect as they are right behind the damper. -
Yes thanks. I noticed that didn't work a while back but you were having sever issues at the time and didn't want to add to the problem.

It sure doesn't look like they are going to make it IMO. Once the manufacturer's go bankrupt the warranty is worthless...doubt "your" dealer is gonna want to pay for repairs?

The end is in sight. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a2gAysm_OVys&refer=home Chrysler to Halt Production at All Plants for 1 Month (Update1) By Mike Ramsey Dec. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Chrysler LLC, the third-largest U.S. automaker, will close all 30 of its plants for at least a month at the end of shifts on Dec. 19 as it combats plummeting demand for vehicles. The earliest the operations will come back on line is Jan. 19, the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based company said in a statement today. Chrysler’s decision to suspend production comes after a 47 percent decline in U.S. sales in November. The automaker has asked for emergency bridge financing from the U.S. government to avoid collapse. Two factories in Toledo, Ohio, that make the Jeep Liberty, Dodge Nitro and Jeep Wrangler will be closed until Jan. 26. The minivan plant in Windsor, Ontario and the Dodge Viper operations in Detroit will shut until Feb. 2, said Shawn Morgan, a Chrysler spokeswoman. Tommorrow will be ugly!!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_on_go_co/congress_autos Auto bailout talks collapse over union wages By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and KEN THOMAS, Associated Press Writers Julie Hirschfeld Davis And Ken Thomas, Associated Press Writers – GOP Senators Revolt Against $14B Auto Bailout Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, … WASHINGTON – A $14 billion emergency bailout for U.S. automakers collapsed in the Senate Thursday night after the United Auto Workers refused to accede to Republican demands for swift wage cuts. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he was "terribly disappointed" about the demise of an emerging bipartisan deal to rescue Detroit's Big Three. He spoke shortly after Republicans left a closed-door meeting where they balked at giving the automakers federal aid unless their powerful union agreed to slash wages next year to bring them into line with those of Japanese carmakers. Republican Sen. George V. Voinovich of Ohio, a strong bailout supporter, said the UAW was willing to make the cuts — but not until 2011. Reid was working to set a swift test vote on the measure Thursday night, but it was just a formality. The bill was virtually certain to fail to reach the 60-vote threshold it would need to clear to advance. Reid called the bill's collapse "a loss for the country," adding "I dread looking at Wall Street tomorrow. It's not going to be a pleasant sight." The implosion followed an unprecedented marathon set of talks at the Capitol among labor, the auto industry and lawmakers who bargained into the night in efforts to salvage the auto bailout at a time of soaring job losses and widespread economic turmoil. "In the midst of already deep and troubling economic times, we are about to add to that by walking away," said Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., the Banking Committee chairman who led negotiations on the package. Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, the GOP point man in the talks, said the two sides had been tantalizingly close to a deal, but the UAW's refusal to agree wage concessions by a specific date in 2009 kept them apart. The autoworkers' contract doesn't expire until 2011.

I figured it out. Had the program on a virtual drive. Opened the files and ran setup again...all is good now.
