after further inspection found broken rings and a chewed up cam and crank.over hauling it now as soon as rings come off back order. short block put us over cost cap and we are high already got to do it the cheap way got to love it.

i use a 1/4 inch 8mm swivel and extension if you take the ground and positive bracket off you can get to it. i pop it out with a hose pick then unplug it a little tricky to get bolt started but its alot better than playing with the ac compressor just my way of doing it

i have checked all cylinders for bent rods cant see any also i did not perform a leakdown test before tear down how ever the oil level was good but it was changed 20 miles before it got to me. the lifter doesnt appear collapsed just the spring clip gone

well i have a 6.0 on voodoo came in for no start found old oil filter base stuck in bottom of housing. after it finally started found missing on 3 cylinders. also noticed alot of oil on cold side cac tube. so i did a crankcase pressure test 11 in called bert and ernie and the told me to remove turbo and rerun crank case pressure test like thats real easy on an 03 so i did it and it dropped to 8-9 inches so next is a manual compression test found low cylinder 290 high cylinder 360 so tore the engine down cant find any thing wrong three cylinders had light valve contact so i filled the heads with diesel and all the valves hold next i remove the valves and none are bent protrusion is good and taper is at outerlimits of spec but still in spec. only thing i have found is one lifter out of the front 8 was missing the clip and it fell apart only after i taken it out of engine. cross hatches still present no mods at all air filter weighs 4 oz more than new one im scrathing my head what am i over looking i know it has to be something stupid my only thinking is that the lifter clip came out and rolled down camshaft and made the valves hit i would really like to know why compression is way off and any other thaughts thanx steve
