  1. correct if im wrong but im not getting any smoke out of the tailpipe so im guessing since the comustion pressure is greater than the cooling pressure that is why its pushing out the cap????
  2. does anyone know where i can get the adaptors and hand pump for testing bottle and cap???Also the inline adaptor for hooking the pvt up to measure cooling system pressure and the cone shaped rubber fitting to test oil coolers???I asked my manager to get them but he is 80 years old and obviosly doesnt give a fuck

I have an 04 f250 that is spewing coolant out of the degas bottle cap.It first came with the complaint of using coolant.The customer stated he didnt have heat so topped it off.After inspectinmg egr valve and intake manifold noticed it was alittle damp and smelled like coolant so replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler. After that the service writer comes out to me and says o i forgot to tell ya he said it was coming out of the cap too so he replaced the cap. I said hmmm ok so i test drove and sure enough it was still coming out of the cap.The customer bought the cap himself, so that had me thinking so i switched it with a known good cap drove for like 30 miles and nothing was coming out seemed alright.So returned to customer.So he calls back first thing this morning and says its doing it again.This kid is running a 140hp programmer and has a straight pipe exhaust.Could this possibly be head gaskets??? I did a test for combustion gases in the cooling system but passed any help always appreciated
  6. i know a bad icp sensor can cause a rough idle but can it actually cause a miss?? Also just refresh my memory on 7.3s if you unplug the icp sensor the pcm will go into a default mode and should straighten the idle out?
  7. i got my fuel pressure issue starightened out but after reviewing power balance again it seems to be the whole left bank dropping cylinders in power balance.
  8. got a 06 ambulance runs rough blueish smoke.Did fuel pressure test was way below spec with valve open 29 psi.had one contribution balance code.Replaced fuel pressure regalutor got fuel prerssure back in spec still running rough with bluish smoke not as bad.No FICM codes should i be diaging the FICM anyway??? power balance shows cylinder 4 has the worst one with fuel correction turned off but they are all dropping a decent amount as i watch idle.This is a cash job the ambulance has 150000 on it.Should i suggest all new injectors??? Is the damage already done from the low fuel pressure???Ive had this happen before where i replaced the regulator and the worst injectors viewed in power balance and had it come back a day or 2 later putting more injectors in.Or should i just replace the worst ones first??? Is there a better way to pinpoint faulty injectors than i am doing???

  10. a guy in my shop is doing this tsb on a ranger.Its the one for replacing the jackshaft gear and crank gear along with the tensioners and chain.He keeps saying there is some quick easy way to do this without holding the cams or anything...Is there im just curious and would like to help him out too if there is. thanks

  14. yea i got one looks to be the front cover but it also damp all up around the oil cooler as well

  16. Have any of you guys ran into 6.4l's with the front cover leaking coolant??? or the oil cooler leaking coolant externally??? just curious.... thanks
  17. the one i looked at the f450 had no codes except for the p1000 like you mentioned above so im gonna say that this is a normal thing for the f450 f550
  18. I have an 04 f-650 with merritor wabco abs system. The abs light wouldnt go out so i contacted merritors tech line and they said to blink the codes out of it since my dealer doesnt have the software to diag this. So what i blinked out was there is no codes, go figure.So merritor suggested adjusting the abs sensors so i did that by pushing in all the sensors as close to the tone rings as possible and i guess they self adjust.When i did i then took for a long test drive and the light stayed off so i returned to customer.The next day they said the light came back on and there now bringing the truck back and im stumped.Any help always appreciated
  19. had a f-450 come in today with the same problem excessive regen havent got a chance to look at it yet though.This truck also just had the pcm update.
