  1. Just to let you all know what happened with this it ended up having to spun main bearings and a cracked flexplate ,almost cracked right off.Could this wipe out bearings like that??? ,It had to be that or the fact that when i pulled the air filter out and put it face down about a gallon of dirt fell out of it, go figure.
  2. Not just California emission trucks all green state trucks including PA.I had a truck come in last week with the same complaint. The customer thought something was wrong with the truck and this feature was unknown to me at the time.I called hotline and the explained it to me.Its in pced somewhere under description and operation i think.
  3. Ok yea, and its freezing here right now in the norheast, but why would they fill the breather with goo???It does not have any kind of breather ive ever seen on it. Its a metal one ,the ones i usually see are plastic. Dont the ones for the recall usually have wires coming off them??
  4. just tested cooling system when engine was hot and dropped 5 psi in 20 minutes
  5. 2006 lcf customer says coolant is mixing with the oil. degas bottle was low and coolant actually looked green and sparkling like there was metal contamination. pressure tested cooling system cold and holds pressure did not do it hot yet. pulled dipstick and oil looked white/grayish and black. Also pulled oil cap and the bottom was all milky so was the inside of the valve covers from what i could see. could i have a cavitation issue possibly? or condensation?any help always appreciated.
  6. nope your absolutley right its just one of those persistant customers they complain about every little thing when they bring these ambulances in i swear alot of times its like chasing ghosts. It starts to drive you insane. Then my service manager and service writer stand there looking at me like why cant you find the problem???? Well because i really dont think there is one...
  7. Customer complaint is vehicle shifts hard and is hard starting when cold . It has 146,884 on the odometer and its an ambulance.Well it sat out over night last night in 30 degree temps and when i went out to start it this morning it fired right up idled rough for a couple seconds but started right up. They keep the vehicle inside all the time too. The other complaint for the shifting i couldnt really verify except when it was cold it would take longer to shift and shift a little firm but after it warmed up it was fine. There was a couple tsb's for this 07-14-08 and 06-02-04 for pcm reprogramming but this thing is at the highest calibration already. Trans fluid is at correct level and practically new looking and there is no dtc's at all did all self test. Any help appreciated!

  16. Its very long crank, even when hot in the cab it sounds like its knocking, outside the cab it just sounds like a real bad miss again had had copper and metal particles all over filter and oil drain plug. I think im gonna pull the pan.I was reading in the wsm the procedure says you need this special cross brace that goes over the top of the engine like one you would use to remove a front wheel drive transmision and take off all the pulleys from just browsing through it. Anyone know any shortcuts? I was thinking maybe just getting our engine hoist and picking the front of the engine up.Because our shop def does not have any of these tools.
