We have a c15 acert mxs 625 hp.Its only making 40 psi of boost loaded.pressure tested CAC and all intake piping.Checked all connections from turbo to turbo.Used a air pressure regulator to test wastegate. On the wastegate it's stamped 25.86 psi. When I'm adjusting the regulator and hit 25 psi the wastegate starts to open and at 40 psi wastegate is fully open.Looked up the test spec on SIS.Shows spec of 51 psi of boost.Everyone else I have talked including some of the drivers say that it should make 60 psi. What am I missing here?

I actually got in good with one of the i6 guys.Sent me a lot of good stuff including a PowerPoint on MAF Cals.I also get a lot of complaints low power pulling trailer.Finding a lot of boost leaks on the hot side cac boots where the sealed clamps are.Anyone know what they use for the injector disable test???? Do the add up the fuel rates then divide by 6? Then whatever is below the average is suspect?

I agree, sometimes ive been taken on roller coaster rides with guys and some other guys really no there shit. When i worked for Ford i really enjoyed working with there tech services there were no secrets.Im not so pleased with International. It seems like everythings a big secret and theres no actual voice communication. It goes through messages on a server and sometimes you could be waiting for a long time for a response.Usually if you ask why i get a response please continue to work with tech services. Its just gets frustrating.

Working on alot of MF13's latley.Usually complain of low power pulling a trailer.Go for road tests and get snapshots. No faults.Go through and compare everything to the performance specifications and everything looks to be in spec.So start a case file and upload the snapshot data. One particular example they came back and told me to check the EGR valve position circuit because it was not matching EGR control(command).I went back through that same snapshot and realized it never really meets the command.I dont know if its just lag in the software or what.I test drove another truck from the same fleet and the data for the EGR valve control and position was almost exactly the same.I pointed this out to them and there response was "we have a little more information on our side".Do they have some kind of program they run the snapshot data through???Any other International techs go through this before??Starting to feel like a puppet for tech services.

appreciate the cutaways especially the IPR
-
Anyone have pics of IPR cutaway??Bruce maybe??Im curious to see how its actually working in there. Is it just blocking or opening ports in the pump as it moves in and out?
-
Im pretty sure Its going to drain when you remove the lid.Hold the spring down with the lid off and it should stay.

will update after suggested testing.

No lots of white smoke
-
yes i agree

I think ill give tech services a shout.Thanks.

So what would be a good compression ratio at that elevation.Just ran compression test. Cyl 2 318psi Cyl 4 350psi Cyl 6 320psi Cyl 1 320psi Cyl 3 300psi Cyl 5 305psi Customer complaint,"Has to start with starting fluid every morning" no matter what ambient air temp is.

I have an 06 LCF im trying to update the calibration on.Everytime i enter the chasis number is NETS it tells me that its not a valid international vin.I work for IH.Do you guys who work at Ford have a diffrent version of NETS for updating calibrations?

Once again thanks Bruce.

Im not sure of my altitude.Im in NEPA.Thank you though.

Does anyone know the compresion spec for this engine?
-
Well i got to work on this thing again finally.I drained the fuel bowl and dumped a bottle of stanadyne performance formula in the bowl.Ran engine and about a minute later no smoke ran like a dream.I told the guy it needed more injectors. He told me that he had already had them replaced. But the quality of the injectors is questionable. He got them very cheap and stated that a couple of them had loose solenoids. He also mentioned that he did not have a mechanic change them but had one of his tow truck drivers change them.Regaurdless he stated that he is not putting anymore injectors in it and took the truck back.Even though a couple of the compression readings are on the low side.I bet 6 more injectors from a reputable injector manufacturer would have cured the problem.Thank you for all your assistance.I do have a question still about perdels.I know they should all be reading 0 but if you have a higher number lets just say 3%, what does that represent??Does that mean the injector is flowing more fuel to keep that cylinder contributing properly?
-
Yes fuel quality is not an issue.Bruce thanks i appreciate it.Wont see this truck again until Saturday. Will update then.
-
Does anyone know the actual compression spec?Is it 350-400 psi?
-
o Sorry about that.
-
lubriplate or engine slick.
-
Its like its dumping raw fuel then it clears up.
-
No its not using oil. What are you thinking????Blowby??Inlet side of turbo is dry.No play in the wheel.

Im stuck here boys.2000 f550 manual.242,000 miles.Truck had no start.IPR fixed that.Got it running but it would run like crap as you were going through the rpm range then once you got higher into the rpms the smoke would clear up and it would finally move. The smoke is white/bluish.I have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and it never drops below 55psi.Oil has been changed along with fuel filter. No codes.Run cylinder contribution test with solus ultra and it flags 3 and 8.Pulled the valve covers and all glow plugs.Did manual compression test. Results are as follows.Cyl 1 400 psi,cyl 3 370 psi,cyl 5 345 psi,cyl 7 365 psi,cyl 2 365 psi,cyl 4 380 psi,cyl 6 340 psi,cyl 8 380 psi.So i got 2 injectors and installed. The problem is still present and im not sure where to go next.Any help advise appreciated.

That or if you have a porta power you can remove one of the cab bolts and jack it up.
