I know, just not what I wanna hear - nore does the customer, also would low compression allow one to crank after being plugged in, Is it possible I have 4 more bad injectors not firing (stiction) when cold and start firing after warming the engine, I have not driven the truck or had it cranked since I replaced the injectors (tomorrow I will plug it in and drive it and see if the run rough concern is repaired then see if it will crank cold after that (doubt it will cause i cranked the crap out of it - icp is up and will run on starting fluid) but while cranking sounds like its starving for fuel - but after being plugged in starts good (STICTING??????)

I replaced #1,3,5 and 8 injectors do to it running rough while driving (replaced those four do to contribution test, buzz test, injector cut out test and perdel readings... i felt they were the worst), checked injector harness and ohm'd all glow plugs and replaced the glow plug relay, still will not start, truck does not have a lot of white smoke while cranking and sounds like its starving for fuel (fuel knock while cranking) which leads me to a fuel delivery problem, but why does it start after being plugged in,
  3. The truck was driven to me from 45 miles away, could it be stiction in the injectors like we see in the 6.0s?, low miles on this truck but not sure how its been maintained and then sat for who knows how long

All glow plugs check good, glow plug relay is bad but can jump power across relay and still no start, icp jumps right up during cranking 1200 psi plus, if you plug in block heater for 4 hours engine starts and runs a little rough then clears up, customer says it has sat a while, fuel is red but good and good fuel pressure, fuel filter is clean, truck runs ok after it has started, puffs a little out of oil fill tube but i have seen alot worse without cold cranking issues, changed oil and filter still having cold cranking issues (and its not that cold hear, will not crank on a 50 degree day if it has not been plugged in, truck has 150000 miles on it

  6. Customer states truck stalled while driving then would not restart, truck has 40,000 miles, engine sounds like a hydro locked 6.0/6.4, has a hard fault #3 glow plug code, this is my first (possible) major 6.7 failure any help, suggestions, previous experiences would be greatly appreciated

  9. 99 F450 Wrecker while driving WOT at times boost drops from 8 psi to 2 psi and starts blowing white smoke, the truck is straight drive and the concern is present coming through the gears if winding out that gear and goes away when shifting to the next gear until your at wot. I took a couple recordings during the concern - concern is only present around 2500 rpm, ICP holds steady around 2400 to 2600 psi, ipr is 33%, just driving the truck and not monitoring pids it feels like fuel pressure or an fuel inlet restriction - but with these issues your boost is always still present, the air filter is clean, the map sensor and hose are ok (i robbed them off my personal truck that has no problems and concern is still present), p1247 was stored in memory, the wot boost (9psi max) seems to be low when the concern is not present... I'm not sure on this one any help will be greatly appreciated

Vehicle has a new fuel pump, secondary fuel filter and pressure regulator, at idle fuel pressure fluctuates between 60 and 70 psi (checking at pump) fluctuation seems excessive, concern is very intermittent but while driving fuel pressure will drop to 0psi, I have checked for an inlet restriction during the concern as well as power and ground to pump NPF, Anyone seen anything like this, maybe combustion gas? vehicle does not skip until the loss of fuel pressure
  11. Got a 96 here that starts cold and will run all day, will not restart after engine is warm. KOEO ICP Voltage - .22v, during the concern (engine spinning) ICP 200psi / .85v, IPR 23%. I replaced the IPR valve and the concern is still present. I am going to block off the lines to the heads to check for leaks in the morning - Just wondering if anyone has seen anything else that could cause this concern.
  12. A customer called and said his 2004 F-250 was skipping, He also said he wanted to wait till this additive called hot shot secret came in the mail. He showed up a couple days later, I checked power balance - #6 cylinder dead, relative compression - 0% all cylinders, good fuel pressure, HE wanted to try this hot shot secret, Changed oil and filter and added one quart oil additive (hot shot) and a fuel additive that came with this kit. He called after he got home (about 20 miles) said that the truck was running great and not skipping anymore, a couple weeks later (about 300 miles) he called with a concern of black smoke - He showed up a little while later knocking and thick grayish black smoke... Found - internal turbo seal leaking (Pouring oil down the down pipe), #6 injector had stuck open and low compression (190 psi) in # 6 cylinder (probably melted piston do to the stuck open injector). He could not afford to repair this truck and had it towed, all he needed to start with was one injector and a oil change

Had a 99 F-550 dragged in the other day - No start, ICP codes, checked no start pids - found low icp causing no start - found high pressure resevior empty - topped off resevior, after three or four tries truck started. Shut it off after about 30 min and would not restart, icp would only build about 130 psi (icp voltage koeo - .21v), checked resevoir - still full. HP resevoir drains overnight, truck has a new HP oil pump, IPR valve and ICP sensor. I am pretty sure I have an HP oil leak do to it starting cold and no start hot even when the resevoir is full but I do not understand what is causing the HP resevoir to drain overnight
