  1. sound like you need to unhook the wds and hook up a pres. gage to the tranny,my guess would be a failing torque converter.
  2. that is a very good idea who would have thought of it,(well I guess you did)
  3. I wish I could just replace the cover, but my service director watches warrenty claims pretty close,I guess thats not a bad thing though if we all just through parts a warrenty claims we,d only be hearting the manufacture we,re workin for.I do remove the cover to remove the plug and clean out the sludge.I'll try an impact on the next one it the customer hasnt allready stipped it out.
  4. Has anyone been successful in removing the water in fuel drain plug?I've had several that I had to remove the cover and drill the plug out, which is o.k because most of them were full of the white slugde that needed to be cleaned out anyway. The new replacement plug I've been getting is alum. (not brass as the original) but I still use half a can of antiseaze on the new plug.
  5. Havent tried the special tool, mightyvac pump works great if it holds vac. the seal is good. The thing I would like to know is what the heck is that stupid shield on the inside of the seal doin there and how do ya get it off without wrecking it?One of the other techs in the shop did a set of balljoints (what a surprise)on an 05 today needless to say the shields did not make it back on the truck.
  6. I would also look closely at the junction box,I installed a hitch on an 05 Escape a few days ago. There was a harness plug at the rear that is for tow lights and backup sensors but it was dead,so I thought I'd just look and see if I could just pop in a fuse, well what do ya know not only is the fuse not installed but there was no socket in the hole for the fuse to plug into.
  7. First I would like to say hello to everyone,I just found this site the other day and registered,I am impressed you guys are doin a great job.As far as the cab removal I have done two so far one was a 97 F-150 engine change ya know the one that are tucked in under the dash, lol. The other was a F-450 or 550 not sure,it was a cube van.Not one problem with either,I personaly would not do it any other way.
