08 e450 box ambulance just shut off yesturday and wouldnt restart, they towed it in. When i came in today it started up fine for me. eec test p1260pats code and it does not have pats keys installed. Heres the kicker.... 2 other vehicles(makes and models unknown) just shut down in the same area i was told. The people were standing around trying to figure out just why all there vehicles just shut down and wont restart in the same place. This unit was in for service last monday and no dtc's when scanned. Could this be a bad case of external rfi-say leaky powerlines after a bad snowstorm or something. Two blocks away from me they shut down a whole block and 711 was closed down cause it had no electric. I checked tsb9-24-3 for p1260 and the ids says the pcm is at it's latest. I blank path programmed it and 8c2a-12a650-acd was installed. I don't know if this will help or should i go to the motorcraft website to install a patch for this tsb. Usually i thought if a higher calibration was required the ids will state it-"there's a higher calibration available" and download it automatically if you input Yes. Anyway maybe this just happened because of some external rfi and triggered the dtc because the pcm/cluster went into antitheft mode. I have seen this code come up with other no start/hard start issues like being low on oil due to exessive cranking i guess.

I'm sure glad i left the dealer, not to mention one service manager used to take me away from my nice cash jobs i upsold to do prior approvals for other techs-say like the trans rebuilder with no kind of compansation. Now it just takes awayfrom my production time and has me staying late sometimes trying to catch up with my work.

My freind was cranking the hell out of his van when it backfired and popped through the air filter covers cracking them. It was 5 qts low. I kept telling him to check the oil level.

And im so glad were not required to do prior approval on egr and oil coolers anymore but now it's freakin injectors!

I usually leave those boxes blank. I had 1% on cyl4 and 2% on cyl6 and they came at me with that whole shabang about 2% and manual readings- i aint doin no manul readings on an eseries for no 2% relative comp reading to prove out a bad injector. Anyway i did the test again and it all came up even zeros. I wrote back to them and they got back to me within the hour with an approval for two injectors. Ah thats what you get for being so honest the first time around. I just hope that i don't see any bad injectors for a while-few and far between.

My manager informed me as of recently ford requires prior approval for injector r&r. Whats the specific information ford is looking for in the request, charts filled out etc...

We have a Bluepoint pnuematic vacuum gun we use with egr r&r, it works pretty well but we have to clean it up at least once a month because of all the carbon build up.

Try pulling the egr valve, jack up the rear and pressure test above 16 psi and let it sit for a while. -
Well so far so good. If the mil came back on i problobly would have heard bout it by now, the person who drives this vehicle is particular. Thats true though, I never rely on the frp pid for a fuel pressure reading.

Well i just drove it 43 miles. i did'nt complete the monitors though but eec tests p1000.

oh shit i said 09 it's an o5-sorry. only cmdtc. i just put the sensor in so i'll see what happens. Pin fit is good.

Got an 09 escape with 3.0, check engine lite on. eec test p0193 frp sensor ckt. high input. Oasis shows no ssms or tsb's. The sensor v pid reads good and no stalling or power issues noted. I tap on the sensor with a screw driver and the pid voltage will spike and then spiked to the top of the screen. Any one had to replace these?

Late build 04 has a throttlebody? Had a few 04s with similar issues though they had tbody dtc's. I unplug the tbody and plenty of power off the line and all.

Well looks like were not going to service that fleet for now cause we got enough of our own down and we need another lift, tools parts etc. I feel somewhat relieved seeing what goes on with these things.

Yea well i hope it's just services when these things start coming in but with my luck it one would problobly come in with some crazy concern. I know one of them is on it's 3rd motor with like 20k and check engine lt. and some messages in the cluster so i'm trying to prepare as much as i can. We got enough going on with our 6.0s.

Is the egr valve puller and fuelpressure guage setup in the kits? Is there an alternative method of pulling the egr valves? Is it common to replace egr valves on these, just wondering because i did'nt notice any tsb's for egr. Any other info like are misfires common like the 6.0 or does the 6.4 just screw up in inconsistant ways. I appreciate all inputs and i'm going to go over these 6.4 posts as well.

I never worked on a 6.4 before. Today i was informed that we are going to svc. a fleet of 10 ambulances, 3 of which have 6.4 the 08 f550 in the shop today to fit on the lift is on it's 3rd motor and had a check engine lt. Well guys i'd appreciate any pointers to fix these things-they run pretty hard bcause they're emergency units. Also if anyone could provide common part #s and common sst tool #s it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

05 6.0 losing ckp signal and sync

I had to replace one for coolant intrusion. I would try a ficm. I had one sunday night, the detailer tried to start it, it would run for a second and shut. The batteries were fully charged and the ficm power was at 30v. I took a ficm out of a unit in the bodyshop that i recently put in and swaped it in, she started rite up, i ran the moniters and all ok. This is also an 05. -
