p008a low fuel pressure. low side system
cheezit posted a topic in 6.7L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
had one cam in moday differnt shop put a pump in it and broke all the fittings going to the pump. dont know what asshat does not know how to disconnect them by now and figured a screwdriver would do the trick. anyway after replacing the fuel lines (took 4 days to get to large to IVO them) found the sorce to be from the low fuel pressure fuel swich leaking fuel and briding the terminals. so something else to check -

fuel in coolant...finding a cracked head. if you have to remove both heads you can flip them uupside down with the injecotrs in and back fill the coolant passages with soapy water. then inject 50psi of shop air into the fuel supply port on the head wait for a little bit. the one that has suds bubbling is the bad one. -
my wife didnt like the body either. I broght it home from the shop with a dealer tag in it. she kept it the next day and drove it 60 or so miles. I drove it 120 (round trip to work and back) sdhe was able to get past the " boxy " look

well Ive got a front cover with a pin hole in a 6.4, a set of fuel lines to install on a 6.7, a high pressure pump and vdf on an 03 6.0, and engine to put in a 06 bucket truck, 3 injectors a turbo and a charge air cooler in an 05. I havce one 6.4 with a p012f do in tuesday and a tow in yesterday that has no ficm Lpwr and Mpwr goes from 24v to 0v in less then 10seconds. its 3 days in to the pay Ive got 28 hours and half of the 03 done so far. I flaged 187 hours in january. A little low for what Im used to but for jan still a good month

ive seen this before. had one the other day no start issues. oil filter lid was a napa glod lid with a fram inside it. now how much time one spends to try and remove a filter from a non serviceable lid Ill never know. -

jim your a better man then me. I live for the 100* days. love it all warm and toasty.
-
Ya I hear ya on the moze to az. Texas is normaly a case of less warm then burrnipply. I however star to freeze at 60* and hate long sleeves
-
down here it doesnt get extramly cold, but I hate the cold weater. any suggestions on good light weight winter gear other the obvious wear a jacket. stuff like under armour cold gear but short sleeve. It sucks becasue they sell it in the UK but not in the USA.

been bit in the ass by this once. p012f is casued by a reduced flow issue. I found a cavatated front cover on a 6.0 was the root cause of the concern. not a lack of flushing like the good people at tech support are gonna tell you. also is there a trubo bolt spacer not accounted for ( like the 03 style one) if so it may be in the blue hose causing like issues.

foudn a snapon prybar under a hood had it for 2 weeks. left the same way it came in.. bummer. got a new to me 1/2" mac rachet a few weeks ago. 2 new to me snapon screwdrivers. about 6 months ago I got a new to me kersha knife. working on a 67 mustang found a 3/8" snapon rachet cover in 15 years worth of grime stuck up in the a-arm. cleaned it up took it out to the truck and got the head rebuild for free good times. sadly I think I have lost more then I have found.

so fare have seen 3 of the exact same thing. replaced 3 pumps so far and 3 fixed trucks. now the issue is this ford says we have to follow the ppt test if we expect to get paid. My boss refuses to sign off on the pcms... and yet the back flags come from either not folloing the pc/ed or ineffective repairs when ya do

lets see.. heating a ball joint with a torch... I have seen this one before. if you get it hot enugh the gases emitted from the grease will produce enugh pressure to make the ball joint shoot accross the shop. it happened and no not by me. As a matter of practice i got tired of jumping starting cars many years ago from keys being left in the on position. now its just a matter of habbit to remove them and toss em on the floor board.

dont remember the last cab I pulled on a 6.4. its been a long time. I have had great luck with the bluepoint 10mm striped bolt socket. the snapon one is different and sucks. -
so me any water seperator that will hold a gallon of water. aint one out there. when you pull a tank and see it rusted from top to bottom. Ford did not put water in the tank (with the exception of a few trucks, yes it happened) The customer has options if they are advised correctly. They can submit the claim to there insurance co as comp damage from bad fuel. this does not go aginst there driving record either. They can file claims against there fuel outlet assuming they sorce there fuel from the same place all the time or can show invoices for fuel if they can prove were the fuel came from. Using fuel from the oil feild equipment is also a really bad idea. my .02 anyway.

they were commin in all the time for samples. we had the outside adjusters doing it for awile. only thing I can add here is when you get the pump out remove the back cover and inspect per job aid.

I have see and varified this with my truck an 06 with vxcf9 flash. its more a matter of the p0405 code and has little to do with weather the valve is in place or not. however you will get the p0405 with no valve.the best i could get out of active commanding my vdf was 1500rpm at 100% fanvar# with rpm 1200. another tech also found the same thing as well at a different shop right around the same time. both trucks were the same basic set up. no egr cooler and studed. this was using the stock program also my truck is a 50 state calibration. hope this helps -
Small update to cab tilt procedure.

put in vise and use a punh to hold the gear in place... if you look at the pump there is a hole behind were the gear sits works well.
