6.0 econoline harness chaffe
tonybullitt replied to tonybullitt's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
Thanks for the replies. I had put a icp sensor and pigtail in it still acts up overlayed the signal wire still acting up. Getting hounded they need it back so I said drive it and decide if you want to take it. Its not right but does run. The driver came over and I went for a ride with him and he says its always done that and they took it back I got a price on a harness told service advisor and manager no ideal how much time but thats what it needs and driver admited it was happening before I touched it. -
I have an ambulance that after replacing the injectors I have a cut out feeling made recordings see my icp drops when concern occurs. I remember seeing a 6.0 common chaffe picture on pts before but cant find now. I have wiggle tested and moved harness in stall and cant make act up replaced the icp and pigtail still acts up. Does anyone have common chaffe suggestion for me to look at?

No problem. He calls and asks me questions all the time so I don't mind asking him some.

I think you have to add the vehicle security system and remote start system from accessaries to get key fobs on a truck without factory keyless entry. Instructions only go back to 07 but should be the same as 05 http://www.fordservicecontent.com/ford_content/catalog/accessory_files/2007MY%20GEN-2%20I-Sheets%20(trucks%208-17-07).pdf

Caution on 2015 turbos

cab and chassis are carry over from 14 -
Had a new 14 escape no crank no start. No communication with pcm, abs and pscm. Ohmed dlc pins 6 and 14 got 120 ohms. Pcm disconnected still 120ohms. Ohmed from dlc to pcm 18k ohms on HS- Check out the backed out pin I found behind glove box. I reinstalled pin pluged in went to .7 ohms reinstalled trim and glove box went back to 18k ohms. I pulled side trim off and opened and closed the glove box found the glove box stop would hit the wire harness and pulled the pin out. I cut the wire on both sides of the connector and overlayed around it secured the harness away so glove box stop wont touch it.

We on the trp were informed that the clutch pack kits will start coming with a preselected shims. No measuring required just slap in and go. Now the part you dont want to hear the times are being lowered also.

premature inj failure
tonybullitt replied to tonybullitt's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I was hoping you could add it somewhere on the site. -
I am on the Tech Review Panel. Last nite meeting we were told that they are still having like 30% of the spw inj failure from low fuel pressure. They wanted us to spread the word about the revised procedure of letting the engine run at idle before driving any time the fuel system is opened up. They started putting a info card in with the reman injs but it is advised to do on any repair. I attached the info card. 6+0L+Injector+Early+Failure+3+5x8+5+v4.pdf

I asked about why the full synthetic oil when at the trp meetings. I got a strange look then later I was told that it is a misprint and is going to be changed.

I am the Twin Ciites Region TRP member. We had our first trip to Dearorn March 10-13. When at the tech hotline I asked why in the world cant I filter the hotline assistance requests they all looked at each other. Then told the web design people to make it happen. I just ran oasis on a truck and it is on there. I will ask to maybe refine it some more but its a step in the right direction.

Removing Cylinder Heads
tonybullitt replied to Keith Browning's topic in 6.0L Power Stroke® Diesel Engines
I also always remove the injectors and reseal them. I usually use the alliant power oring kit and put the upper seal in also when doing headgaskets. It takes more time but I feel better about the repair. I have had many trucks towed in the customer says just had all the updates done at the competition diesel shop. Only to find the dummy plug orings blown out. On a engine that was just apart. -
Mine have been cab and chassis trucks. That tsb doesn't say for just pickups but says to look at waste gate pid.

Here is the latest response from hotline about a turbo concern. This time they do say its because of the cold temp. With the colder temperatures that the Minnesota area has been seeing it would be recommended to change the engine oil to a winter viscosity such as SAE 5W- 40 full synthetic diesel motor oil or SAE 15W-40 full synthetic diesel motor oil. Changing the oil viscosity will improve VGT response time and reduce the drag on the bearings in the turbocharger when the oil is cold.
-
I am in MN maybe they think to cold for the 10w30.
-
Friend of mine at another dealer called and asked me about why hotline is pushing us to put 5w40 in also.
-
Sorry not on every concern but most and yes some have been on check engine lite on. Overboost code first thing they respond with is does it do it with 5w40 full synthetic in it.
-
Lately all of the responses from hotline about any concern on 6.7 are to change the oil to 5w40 full synthetic and retest. Have any of you been getting this also?
